- Day 1
Marrakech to Dades Gorges
Your driver picks you up from your Marrakech place and heads south into the Atlas Mountains. You'll cross over Tishka Pass at 2600m, where there are some great views across the mountains and valleys. The route takes you through Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, an old fortified village that's worth seeing, then on through Ouarzazate. By evening you arrive at Dades Gorges for the night. The drive takes roughly 8 hours total, so plan for a long day on the road.

- Day 2
Dades Gorges to Merzouga
This morning you'll head to Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon that cuts deep between red rock cliffs. You'll have time to walk around and check out the landscape. After that, the route continues down to the Sahara and toward Merzouga, where Erg Chebbi's sand dunes rise up from the desert floor. In the late afternoon you'll get on a camel and ride out to a Berber camp, arriving in time to watch the sunset. The evening involves spending time with your Berber hosts, having dinner, and sleeping under the stars. Driving time runs about 3 to 4 hours for this stretch.

- Day 3
Merzouga to Fes
Before breakfast, head out on one more camel ride while the sun comes up over the dunes. After that experience wraps up, a driver transfers you to Rissani to catch a north-bound bus heading to Fes, which is where the tour ends. The bus ride itself takes around 8 hours, so you'll want to bring water and something to keep yourself occupied during the journey.
