- Anthony· July 26th, 2023Beautiful boat - lovely gracious staff - nice food. Relaxing tour that had a mix of kayaking, snorkelling and sight seeing. One day was a bit windy so we hunkered down on the boat. Brought our own beer from town that we could keep in the cooler. Mix of tenting and staying on the boat was nice. Wandered through a small village and saw a school - wondered about the tokenism of donating to children here. Overall, thank you for an unforgettable 5 days!Show more
- Christina· April 23rd, 2023It was an absolutely fantastic adventure from the kayaking to the komodo dragons, to snorkling with manta rays and seeing the beautiful islands. The boat was great and so well kept (compared to many of the others sailing around). The whole crew and our guide Mattias made us feel so welcome. Mattias' knowledge of the best kayaking and snorkling spots is invaluable.Show more
- Stephanie· July 22nd, 2022I travel a lot. I also am an oceanographer and teacher so I spend a lot time in the ocean and also spend a lot of time with students. This trip was made exceptional because of the crew. They are a well oiled machine: each one has a clear role but they work we as a team. This makes everything flow effortlessly to maximize fun and enjoyment of the guests and keep everyone safe. They are top notch! There local knowledge is evident as they navigate both the larger ship and the small boats. They are very in tune with the needs and abilities Of the guests and are able to adjust and provide the appropriate experience. Highly recommendShow more

- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written December 2023
1. mossies & sandflies - are there a lot of these? There are no sandflies but there are mosquitos however they are no more or less than other places you may encounter them. Long-sleeved shirts and pants at night or repellent work a treat. On the islands there are no really issues with mosquitoes. 2. safari tents x 3 nights - what are the facilities? Each safari tent has a stretcher bed with bedding, pillow, sheet. There is a camp toilet tent but no shower, that can be had on the support boat which is moored off the beach. 3. any single supplement as I don't wish to share? If you don't wish to share there is a single supp for the trip of AUD$750. You will have a single room in the hotels and in the tents. However depending on the number of other kayakers, you may need to share 1 night on the boat. 4. kayak - by myself or with a guide? my shoulder is not the best. We can place you in a kayak with someone else or the guide. Most kayaks are double. 5, I'm 77 but in reasonable good health - any age restriction? No age restrictions that is totally fine. 6. when is the best time to go ? less rain , less water swell. The best time to have this combined trip is from May until October.

Asked on June 6th, 2023Can you please advise the available dates at the beginning of September 2023? Please provide the Quote in GBP - 2 double beds (1 room, hotel). Can you please advise if the bathrooms are available in the Safari Style tents in the Komodos? Please be advised that The travellers are Vegetarian.
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written June 2023
We only have 2 spots left for this date as the Komodo section is nearly full. The Orangutan Section will probably be just the two of you. When we stay in the Safari tents we have a toilet tent set up away from the camp area. It is a simple seat and pit. Vegetarian is ok we can cater for this.

Asked on March 15th, 2023What dates does this tour depart?
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written March 2023
We don't run it between Mid Nove and early April as the weather in the Komodos isn't conducive to sea kayaking. We can still however offer you an Orangutan trip as this can be run all year round. We could run a private trip for you that suits your dates.

Asked on July 24th, 2022Is this trip avail in 2023? Also, what is the average age of participants? We are 3 adults in mid to late 50s who are very active but not looking for a "young" tour, if you know whatI mean!
- No Roads ExpeditionsOperator•Written July 2022
This trip will be available in 2023. Our trips are usually attended by people between 45 and 65 so they are not usually for younger audiences. Often the orangutan component is a small group (usually around 3 or 4 people) and in the kayaking component, we have a maximum of 9 people. The price for 2023 however will be going up due to pressure on pricing on every part of the trip, flights, accommodation, fuel etc. We expect it to be around the AUD$5200 per person ex Bali twin share.
