Highlights
- The English Garden in Munich: With 375 hectares, it is one of the largest parks in the world and offers plenty of space to relax and slow down. But the area also has a lot to offer historically and culturally. Visit, for example, the Chinese Tower, the Rumfordschlössl or the Japanese Tea House. Tip: Watch the professional surfers at the Eisbachwelle at the southern end of the English Garden.
- Swimming in the Bavarian lakes: Treat yourself to countless dops in the cool, and above all, clear water – the Bavarian lakes impress with their good water quality. In addition to Tefernsee and Lake Starnberg, the smaller Osterseen or Riegsee await with equally beautiful bathing areas.
- Magnificent views of the Zugspitze: If you cycle the stage to Garmisch-Partenkirchen on day 4, turn your gaze to the southwest towards the imposing Zugspitze massif. If you want to go up high, you can take the cable car (on your own) to an altitude of 2,962m.
- Bavarian customs in Bad Tölz: Whether beautiful traditional clothing, richly decorated house facades or music – in the traditional Bavarian cities around Bad Tölz there is a white and blue attitude to life. Already know this? Every year at the beginning of November, the Leonhardifahrt, a horse pilgrimage in honor of the patron saint of farm animals, takes place on richly decorated carriages.
