Itinerary
- Day 1
Luang Prabang
You'll arrive at Luang Prabang airport and head to your hotel to get settled. Once you've dropped off your bags, take some time to walk around this UNESCO World Heritage city and get your bearings. Later in the afternoon, you'll participate in a private Baci ceremony at a local family home, which is an important spiritual tradition in Laos. Dinner follows with your host family, giving you a chance to learn about local culture firsthand.

- Day 2
Luang Prabang
After breakfast, head to the Royal Palace Museum, a beautiful building from the French colonial period. From there, you'll take a cruise upstream on the Mekong River, stopping at Ban Xanghai village to see how locals produce rice wine and then at the Pak Ou Caves, which contain thousands of golden Buddha statues. Back in the city, you'll visit Wat Sene and Wat Xiengthong temple. If you have energy, there's an option to explore a couple of nearby villages, catch the sunset at Wat Prabath, and browse the Night Market for local textiles and crafts.

- Day 3
Luang Prabang
Get up early to witness the morning alms-giving ceremony where over 200 Buddhist monks collect donations through the streets. You'll then check out the temporary morning market with fresh local produce before grabbing breakfast. Next, climb the 329 steps up Phousi Hill for views of the city and the Mekong River. Later you'll travel to Kuang Si, the region's largest waterfall with three tiers and clear blue pools where you can swim. On the way back, stop at the Ock Pop Tock Living Craft Center to watch weavers and batik makers at work, and stay for sunset views.

- Day 4
Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng
Depart at 8:30 am for Nahm Dong park in Ban Xiengmouk. You'll start with a 1-hour zipline experience over jungle and waterfalls, then walk back through jungle trails crossing flying bridges and natural pools. A picnic lunch at a viewpoint gives you views of Mount Phousi. Spend your afternoon exploring the park and relaxing. By late afternoon, you'll transfer to the train station and take an express train to Vang Vieng, arriving in the evening.

Vang Vieng to Ban Thaheua
Explore the limestone caves around Vang Vieng starting with Tham Jang, a cave historically used as refuge during invasions. You'll cross the Nam Song River to reach Tham Pou Kham, also called the Golden Crab Cave, where you descend 100 meters underground. After that, head to the Blue Lagoon for swimming and relaxation. Then you'll transfer to Ban Thaheua on Nam Ngum Lake, check into your lakeside bungalow, and have the rest of the afternoon and evening free.

Ban Thaheua to Vientiane
After breakfast, you'll take a 4-hour cruise around Nam Ngum Lake exploring local islets and fishing villages. You'll pass by coal fire ovens and visit a traditional farm with the option to swim at a sandy island. Back at ThaHeua Village, your guide will explain how locals preserve dried fish. There's also a stop at Ban Houay Phanom for coffee or tea and a weaving demonstration. A picnic lunch on a scenic island comes before you head back to the resort and transfer to Vientiane via highway.

Vientiane
Start by visiting Wat Si Muang, which holds significant spiritual importance for locals. Drive to Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan) to see over 200 Buddhist and Hindu statues. You'll then visit the Lao Disable Women Development Center to support local artisans. In the afternoon, explore That Luang, the holiest temple in Laos with its distinctive golden spire. Climb Patuxai monument for city views, then visit Wat Sisaket and Wat Phra Keo, a religious museum. End your day walking along the Mekong River at sunset with food stalls and drinks nearby.

Vientiane to Bolaven Plateau
You'll fly to Pakse, the largest city in southern Laos, then head east to the Bolaven Plateau where it's cooler. Stop at a tea plantation and see the scenic twin-chute Tad Fan Waterfall. From there, you'll visit local villages including Ban Lak Sipchet where artisans make iron knives and Ban Lak Samsip known for bamboo basket making. Weather permitting, there's time to visit Tad Yeung waterfall and cool off in its natural pool. Finish at a coffee plantation before reaching your accommodation.

After breakfast, visit the Tha Teng colorful ethnic minority food market. Then you'll explore two minority villages: Ban Bong Neua in the Alak community and Ban Kokphung in the Katu village, where locals traditionally keep coffins under their houses. In the afternoon, visit Wat Phou, an ancient 5th-century Khmer temple and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drive to Champassak to see French colonial buildings, then continue to Done Khong Island where you'll spend the rest of the day relaxing and exploring.

Done Khong Island to Khone Island
After breakfast, take a 1.5-hour long tail boat ride into the widest part of the Mekong River where thousands of islets emerge during dry season, known as Si Phan Done or 4000 Islands. Explore Ban Khone village with French colonial-era buildings and remnants of the first Lao railway and its locomotive. Visit the Liphi waterfall, called the Corridor of the Devil, one of the most striking waterfalls marking the Laos-Cambodia border. You'll have free time to explore the island by bike or on foot.

Khone Island to Pakse
After breakfast, return to the mainland at Ban Nakasang fishing village and drive south to Khone Phapheng, the largest waterfall by volume in Southeast Asia. This impressive site near the Lao-Cambodian border sits in a wildlife-rich area. In the afternoon, drive back to Pakse, founded by the French in 1905. You'll visit Ban Khoh village to see stone carving and stop at Wat Chomphet, which houses the largest sitting Buddha in Laos. Then ascend to Wat Phou Salao for sunset views over the town.

Pakse to Departure
After breakfast, you'll transfer to Ubon Ratchathani in Thailand via the Chongmek Border, which takes about 3 hours including border procedures. From there, fly to Bangkok and connect to your departure flight home.
