Itinerary
- Day 1
Rüdesheim
You'll arrive in Rüdesheim and check into your hotel to get settled. After that, spend the rest of the day exploring this Rhine wine town on your own. Walk around the old streets, check out local shops, or grab a bite at one of the wine taverns. It's a nice way to ease into the trip and get your bearings before the hiking starts tomorrow.

Rüdesheim to Lorch
Take the cable car up the mountain and you'll get great views over the Middle Rhine Valley and the Nahe estuary from up there. From there, hike past the Niederwald hunting lodge toward Assmanshausen, which is known for its red wines and half-timbered houses. After you get through Assmanshausen, keep going to Lorch where you'll find more of those timber-framed buildings and local wines to try. This day covers some good terrain with different scenery throughout.
