Krems
You'll arrive in Krems and head straight to your hotel to get settled in. Take some time to drop off your bags, get comfortable, and get ready for the hiking adventure coming up in the Danube Valley. This is your chance to rest up before the trails start.

Landmarks Krems - Day 2
Krems
Start your morning by walking up through the vineyards toward the tower, which gives you views across the Danube, Krems, and the Göttweig monastery below. From there you'll cross over the hills to reach the cozy Fesslhütte, then work your way out to the Dürnstein ruins on a trail with great sightlines before heading back down to the Danube banks. This hike takes about 4.5 hours, covers 12 km, with 510 m elevation gain and 500 m of descent.

- Day 3
Dürnstein to Rossatz
You'll take the ferry across the Danube from Dürnstein over to Rossatz, then hike past Austria's largest apricot growing area using old tracks as you climb up to Seekopf for Alpine views. There's an option to walk along the Danube through the orchards if you prefer, and you can take the ferry back if you want. The hike runs about 5 hours, covers 16 km, with 480 m elevation gain and 480 m descent.

- Day 4
Rossatz to Spitz
This day you'll hike the wine trail from Weißenkirchen, passing small cellar alleys as you head up into the unique wine landscape high above the Danube. You'll follow the World Heritage Trail through the Wachau wine region, then descend into Spitz, the well-known wine village marked by its 'Red Gate'. This hike takes about 3.5 hours, covers 11 km, with 340 m elevation gain and 330 m descent.

Spitz to Krems
Your return journey from Spitz back to Krems happens by boat. You can choose an early morning departure or wait for the late afternoon one, which gives you flexibility to spend more time in Spitz before you head out. Either way, you'll travel back along the Danube to finish up your trip.
