    Kathmandu

    You'll arrive at Kathmandu International Airport where a representative meets you for the transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to wander around the historic city at your own pace. Take time to get settled and rest up before your trek starts.

  2. Day 2

    Kathmandu to Jiri

    Today you drive 188 km from Kathmandu to Jiri along the Arniko Highway through Lamosangu. The route passes through mountain terrain with views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal peaks visible throughout. You'll arrive at your guesthouse in Jiri by evening.

  3. Day 3

    Jiri to Bhandar

    Your trek begins by crossing the Khimti Khola River bridge to Shivalaya village. From there you ascend steeply to Sangbadanda, then walk through rhododendron forests past Khasrubas and Deorali where mani walls mark the entry into the Buddhist Sherpa region. Later you descend to Bhandar, recognizable by its two large chortens and gompa, for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Bhandar to Sagar

    Trek downhill through fields and stream crossings to reach Dokharpa, then head to the Likhu Khola Valley where you'll cross a suspension bridge. The steep climb to Lamjura La begins after that, with snow-capped peaks coming into view. After two and a half hours of hard climbing, you reach Chimbu and continue another two hours to Sagar for overnight.

    Sagar to Junbesi

    You trek through Dagchu village as the path goes uphill and the forest thins. Distant snow peaks appear as you climb toward Lamjura La pass at 3,530m. After reaching the pass, descend via steep zigzag paths through open country with stonewalled fields to Tragdobuk and Junbesi village with its views of Karyolung and Numbur peaks.

  6. Day 6

    Junbesi to Nuntala

    Walk for about two hours before coming across a dramatic panorama that includes Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu on clear days. Continue on an almost level trail to Salung and Ringmo, surrounded by apple, peach, and apricot orchards. Then descend steeply through forests and terraced fields, cross a suspension bridge, and reach Nuntala for the night.

  7. Day 7

    Nuntala to Puiyan

    After crossing a suspension bridge over a stream, the trail climbs steeply for an hour to Bupsa. Pass through the forest settlement of Kharte to reach Khari La pass at 2,840m where you get views of Khumbila and Gyachung Kang peaks. The Dudh Koshi River flows in a dramatic canyon below. Later descend to Puiyan for overnight.

    Puiyan

    Cross a suspension bridge over a stream and climb very steeply for an hour to reach Bupsa. Move through the forest settlement of Kharte to Khari La at 2,840m marked by a mani wall. From here you view Khumbila and Gyachung Kang peaks with the Dudh Koshi River flowing in a cavernous canyon below. Then descend to Puiyan for overnight stay.

    Puiyan to Sagar

    Trek downhill through fields and stream crossings to reach Dokharpa in about 45 minutes. Keep left at trail forks to descend to the Surma Khola stream, then continue left to the Likhu Khola Valley. Cross the second suspension bridge and begin the steep climb toward Lamjura La with snow-capped peaks visible. After two and a half hours of climbing you reach Chimbu, then two more hours to Sagar.

    Sagar to Namche Bazar

    Head toward Namche Bazar passing through hamlets of Zamphute and Tok Tok with Thamserku peak in view. Walk through Sherpa villages of Benkar, Chumoa, and Monjo, then reach Utche Choling Gompa on a bluff above the Dudhkoshi River. Enter Sagarmatha National Park and tackle the steeper second half of the day. Cross Jorsale and climb a steep stepped path over the Dudhkoshi River gorge. Ascend slowly to Namche Bazar where Mount Everest comes into view.

    Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazar

    Spend the day exploring around Namche Bazar for acclimatization. Walk to the Army post and Sagarmatha National Park Headquarters to see Khumbu peaks including Mount Everest, with the Kwangde range to the west and peaks like Kusum Kanguru, Thamserku, and Kangtega to the southeast. If it's Saturday, check out the colorful Namche Bazar market where Sherpas gather to buy provisions.

  12. Day 12

    Namche Bazar to Tengboche

    Take an easy level trail from Chhorkung around the ridge to a viewpoint with panoramic views of Thamserku, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, and Everest. Reach Kyangjuma and continue to Sanasa before descending gently toward the river to Lawichasa. Watch for Ama Dablam's distinctive thumb-like peak appearing above the trail. Descend steeply via stone steps to Phunki Thenga and cross a bridge with water-powered prayer wheels. Climb through rhododendron forests to the kani and chortens at Tengboche village.

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    Trek through conifer and rhododendron forests watching for monal pheasants and musk deer to reach Debuche village. Visit Debuche Gompa with its thangkas and murals, then see the Buddhist nunnery on the east hillside. Continue through dense forest to Milinggo before dropping steeply to a suspension bridge over Imja Khola. Climb to a white stupa with Buddhist eyes and reach Pangboche village with its ancient monastery. Proceed through alpine terrain with yak pastures and reach Dingboche, which is cold and windy.

  14. Day 14

    Dingboche to Dughla

    Trek through the heart of the Himalayas with mountains on all sides. Climb slowly along the ridge through Dusa village where twin peaks Taboche and Cholatse appear with Ama Dablam perfectly pyramidal and Kantega visible to the left. Drop to a glacial stream and rise to Dughla for overnight stay.

    Dughla to Lobuche

    Trek directly up the gravelly terminal moraine of Khumbu Glacier, bearing left at the ridge top to Chupki Lhara with its heaps of stones and prayer flags remembering mountaineers. See Chola Lake in the distance at the valley top. Drop to Khumbu Glacier moraine with three great peaks straight ahead: Khumbutse, Lingtren, and Pumori. Follow a murmuring stream to reach Lobuche for overnight.

    Lobuche to Everest Base Camp and Gorak Shep

    This is a long, hard day of trekking through grassy terrain with scattered boulders viewing snowy mountains ahead. Ascend 60m to Thangma Riju on the lateral moraine wall of Changri Glacier, a level spot with 360-degree mountain panorama. Cross Changri Glacier moraine then climb steeply up a stony slope to Gorak Shep. Walk among mountains toward Everest Base Camp crossing glaciers, icefalls, and frozen meltwater pools. Reach EBC then descend back to Gorak Shep for overnight.

    Kala Patthar and Descent to Pheriche

    Start early after breakfast and cross the wide sandy bed of the dried-up lake with steep zigzags ascending about 100m. Get grand views of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse, then climb with views of Khumbu Glacier and Nuptse Massif. Reach rocky Kala Patthar viewpoint and sit on the rocks amidst an unbelievable Himalayan panorama with Everest as the focal point. Return downhill through Gorak Shep and Lobuche, then from Dughla descend to Pheriche along Khumbu Khola for overnight.

    Pheriche to Namche Bazar

    Descend from Pheriche to Tsuro Wog after crossing the bridge over Khumbu Khola with great mountain views. Retrace your trek through Orsho, Shomare, and upper Pangboche to Tengboche monastery, Khumbu's largest gompa. Continue from Tengboche through Phunki Tenga and descend to Sanasa and Kyangjuma before returning to Namche Bazar for overnight.

    EBC tour was great. Sabita was always available to us throughout the tour whenever we needed anything. Our guide Tshiring was excellent throughout the 12 day trek. We would have not completed the trek to EBC without his help and support. I would highly recommend female guide to anyone doing the EBC trek.

The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
