Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding

    You'll fly from Kathmandu to Lukla on a 30-minute flight with views of hills, rivers, and mountains stretching below you. After landing, you'll meet your porter and grab breakfast at the airport before starting the trek. From there, you'll walk for 3 hours through the Dudhkoshi valley to Phakding, crossing suspension bridges and passing through mountain villages along the way.

  2. Day 2

    Phakding to Namche Bazaar

    This morning you'll head toward Namche Bazaar, the main hub of the Khumbu region. You'll cross the Dudhkoshi River five times on suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags, then climb for 5 to 6 hours. On clear days, you might catch views of Everest. You'll pass through Jorsale where you enter Sagarmatha National Park and verify your permits before reaching Namche.

  3. Day 3

    Namche Bazaar

    Today is for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. You'll take a one-day hike through Khunde and Khumjung villages, stopping at the Everest View Hotel for mountain views and visiting a monastery to see the Yeti skull. Later you'll find a bakery at the world's highest altitude before trekking back. The round trip takes about 4 to 5 hours, and you'll return to Namche for the night.

    Namche Bazaar to Tengboche

    You'll trek 10km from Namche to Tengboche on a progressively steeper trail. The path takes you past monasteries, suspension bridges, waterfalls, and rhododendron forests. When you arrive at Tengboche, you'll see one of Nepal's oldest monasteries where you can experience Buddhist rituals and soak in the spiritual atmosphere.

  5. Day 5

    Tengboche to Dingboche

    After breakfast, you'll trek for about 4 hours from Tengboche to Dingboche, heading toward Everest Base Camp. You'll cross the Imja valley and pass through several Sherpa villages as the air becomes noticeably thinner. The altitude increase becomes more apparent as you go, and you'll feel the difference by the time you reach Dingboche.

  6. Day 6

    Dingboche to Chhukung to Dingboche

    You'll start early after breakfast and walk to Chhukung, an easy and pleasant trek with wonderful views of Ama Dablam. From the Chhukung valley, you'll see dramatic views of Island Peak and the eastern face of Amadablam. After taking in the scenery, you'll trek back down to Dingboche for the night, and you might face strong winds on the return journey.

  7. Day 7

    Dingboche to Lobuche

    You'll begin with a gentle climb on the chorten trail for about 1.5 hours before stopping at Thugla tea house for lunch. After eating, you'll continue on a steep climb for another 1.5 hours as you get closer to high mountains like Mt. Pumori and Mt. Nuptse. From there you'll trek across a broad valley floor, passing the Trekkers Aid Post at Pheriche. By evening you'll reach Lobuche after about 5.5 hours of trekking total.

    Lobuche to Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep

    You'll hike for 2 hours to Gorakshep at 5,160m, the world's highest settlement. The first part is straightforward, then the trail gets harder with great views of Everest, Nuptse, and other peaks. After lunch, you'll trek to Everest Base Camp at 5,360m, crossing the Khumbu glacier for about 1.5 hours. You'll see the Khumbu Ice fall and crevasses before returning to Gorakshep for 6 to 7 hours total.

    Gorakshep to Kalapathar to Dzongla

    You'll start early for a 1.5-hour hike to Kalapathar to watch the sunrise over Everest and the Himalayan peaks. After enjoying the unique experience, you'll return to Gorakshep for breakfast, then continue trekking to Dzongla. You'll trek from Gorakshep to Lobuche in 2 hours, then another 2 hours to Dzongla for about 7 hours of trekking total.

    Dzongla to Cho-la Pass to Tagnag

    Early this morning you'll trek from Dzongla across the glacier to Cho-La Pass. The glacier walk is enjoyable during the best season, though excess snow can make the crossing difficult or impossible. You'll trek down to Tagnag for the night, and the glacier crossing will be the highlight of your day.

    Tagnag to Gokyo

    You'll reach Gokyo in about 2 to 3 hours, arriving just in time for lunch. For the rest of the day, you'll explore Gokyo valley, visiting turquoise glacial lakes and taking in views of Himalayan peaks including Everest, Cho-Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu from different angles around the valley.

    You'll climb early to Gokyo Ri at 5,333m to see the Ngozumpa glacier and upper Gokyo Valley with towering peaks around you. After descending, you'll cross the steep Renjo La pass at 5,300m, then trek down to Lungden at 4,350m for the night. This is a challenging day with significant elevation changes and dramatic mountain views.

    Lungden to Thame

    You'll trek to Thame at 3,800m and visit the historic Thame monastery. You'll experience spiritual Buddhist practices and witness the culture of Sherpa people up close. This is a quieter day that gives you much-needed rest before you start the downhill trek toward lower elevations tomorrow.

    Namche Bazaar to Lukla

    You'll walk downhill from Namche to Lukla, a journey of about 7 hours. You'll exit Sagarmatha National Park as you descend, and this memorable descent will wrap up your trekking. Tomorrow morning you'll fly back to Kathmandu, so tonight is your last in the mountains.

    Lukla to Kathmandu

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
