You'll start at Tsagaan Suvarga where white mud cliffs rise up looking like stone stupas. Spend the day hiking through colorful rock formations while taking photos, then settle into your ger camp by evening.

Landmarks/POIs Tsagaan Suvarga - Day 2
Gobi Gurban Saikhan National Park
Head into Gobi Gurban Saikhan National Park to hike through Yoliin Am, also called Eagle Valley. This dramatic rock canyon still holds ice patches into late June, and you'll likely spot golden eagles, wild sheep, and ibexes during the 2.5 to 3-hour trek.

Khongor Sand Dunes
Travel to Khongor, which has Mongolia's largest sand dunes. After hiking along the green river shore, climb the dunes to hear the 'Singing Sand' phenomenon, then visit a nomadic family and spend an hour riding camels while taking in views from the dune tops.

Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag)
Spend the day at the Flaming Cliffs searching for dinosaur fossils. This is where explorer Roy Chapman Andrews found dinosaur remains and the world's first dinosaur eggs. Later, walk through the Bayanzag tree grove with its distinctive Central Asian saxaul trees.

Ongi Monastery
Drive through slate mountains and cross 80 km of Ongi steppes to reach Ongi Monastery, one of Mongolia's seven largest. You'll explore the new active temple, walk through the ruins, check out the ger museum, and climb a nearby mountain for views of the landscape.

Landmarks/POIs Ongi Monastery - Day 6
Kharkhorin and Erdenezuu Monastery
Travel through the transition zone from Gobi desert into mountain steppes on your way to Khonkhorin, the 13th-century capital built under Chinggis Khaan. Visit Erdenezuu monastery to see religious artifacts at the museum and view ancient city remnants at the Kharakhorum Museum.

Return to Ulaanbaatar
On your final countryside day, visit a horse herding nomadic family and ride horses with them. After having lunch with the nomads, you'll transfer to Ulaanbaatar, arriving late in the afternoon.
