Reviews of 3 day Tours from Rio de Janeiro
- 4 days Discovery the Best of Rio de Janeiro
Excellent tour. Really couldn't be happier with the people (guides), the locations we went, the food at the Carretão, the hotel Windsor Excelsior, the drivers, etc. etc. I definitely would recommend this tour with the limited days we had in Rio. Glad I found TourRadar!!!
- Rio de Janeiro - 4 days
Everything about this trip except communication was great. The travel agent booked a wonderfully convenient hotel, the half-day tour was delightful, and the outbound airport transfer was great too. But I had no idea how to find my inbound airport transfer, so I had to catch an Uber and they marked me as a no-show. Several messages later, the travel agent put me in touch with the actual operators on WhatsApp and it was fine from then on. I didn't know I had to take this much initiative, but I suppose it's a hands-off tour!
What our customers ask about Best 3 day Tours from Rio de Janeiro
What are the most popular destinations to visit on a 3-day tour from Rio de Janeiro?
From Rio, most people head to Iguazu Falls, where you'll see 275 waterfalls spread across 2.7km of rainforest. Serra dos Órgãos National Park is another favorite - you can't miss the views from Hércules Portals lookout. Many travelers also love exploring Bonfim Valley and Petropolis, a city full of history that used to be home to Brazil's emperors. As one TourRadar traveler put it, "Iguazu Falls was absolutely breathtaking from both the Brazilian and Argentine sides, making the journey from Rio completely worthwhile."
What kind of accommodation can I expect on a 3-day tour from Rio de Janeiro?
Where you'll stay depends on your tour choice. If you're visiting Iguazu Falls, you'll stay in nice 4-star hotels like the Windsor Leme. Going hiking in Serra dos Órgãos? You'll spend the night at the Açú Mountain Shelter - it's basic but part of the adventure. In Petropolis, most tours put you up at the Solar do Imperio Hotel, right in the historic center. One TourRadar traveler shared their experience: "The mountain shelter at Castelos do Açú Peak offered basic but clean facilities with incredible sunrise views."
What is the best time of year to take a 3-day tour from Rio de Janeiro?
The best weather is during the dry season, April through October, when temperatures stay between 68-77°F (20-25°C). If you're heading to Iguazu Falls, try to go between May and July - you'll get clear views and less rain. For hiking in Serra dos Órgãos, June to August is perfect because the trails aren't slippery and the weather is steady. A TourRadar traveler who went in July said they "had perfect weather conditions with minimal crowds."
What fitness level is required for a 3-day trekking tour from Rio de Janeiro?
For Serra dos Órgãos hikes, you should be in good shape. You'll walk 9-14km each day and climb up to 2,300 feet (700 meters). The Hércules Portals hike takes 5-7 hours daily and starts early in the morning. Don't worry if you're not a serious hiker - tours to Iguazu Falls are much easier, with short walks on good paths. As one TourRadar traveler said, "The Hércules Portals trek was challenging but manageable with regular fitness levels and plenty of breaks provided."
What transport options are available for 3-day tours from Rio de Janeiro?
You'll travel in comfortable, air-conditioned vehicles for most transfers. To reach Iguazu Falls, you'll take a quick 1.5-hour flight. If you're heading to Serra dos Órgãos, it's about an hour's drive to Petropolis. Some tours include fun train rides, like the one up to Corcovado or through Iguazu National Park. A TourRadar traveler mentioned, "The domestic flight to Iguazu was smooth and well-organized, with convenient hotel pickups and drop-offs."
What unique experiences can I expect on a 3-day tour from Rio de Janeiro?
You can watch the sun come up from Hércules Portals viewpoint, walk right up to the Devil's Throat at Iguazu Falls, and visit Aves Parque where you'll see over 150 kinds of birds. Some tours take you to the Imperial Museum in Petropolis or get you close to Iguazu Falls on a boat ride. One TourRadar traveler said, "Watching the sunrise from Hércules Portals was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that made the early wake-up completely worth it."
