Reviews of 10 day Safari Tours
- PRIVATE Wildebeest Calving Safari, Tanzania, January to March **Sustainable Approach to Travel
We had the most amazing time travelling through Tanzania with WAT through Lake Manyara NP, Serengeti NP and Ngorongoro Crater. WAT did an amazing job of organizing the trip that it all went smoothly from one destination to the next. We were happy to be with Jackson as our guide. He is very knowledgeable about the animals and Tanzania in general. Everything turned out exceptionally well, particularly the thousands of wildebeest calving in Ndutu is unforgettable. We hope to return next year for another adventure with WAT
- Kenya AND Tanzania Classic Safari – Two Birds with One Stone **Sustainable Approach to Travel
We have just completed the 9 day Two Birds one Stone eco tour of Maasai Mara and Serengeti. It has been the most amazing experience for all the right reasons. Of course it's all about the animals we have seen, but we had the most awesome guides in both Kenya and Tanzania. The staff at all the wild camps and lodges we stayed at where so friendly and helpful. Knowing we could enjoy all of this with as small an impact on the environment as possible was comforting.
- Nairobi to Zanzibar: Serengeti & Sunsets
Great tour! Safari was awesome!
What our customers ask about 10 Day Safari
What are the most popular destinations for 10-day safari tours?
The most visited spots include Tanzania's Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, and Tarangire National Park. In Kenya, you'll explore the Masai Mara, Amboseli National Park with its views of Kilimanjaro, and Lake Nakuru where pink flamingos dot the shoreline. A TourRadar traveler describes their Kenya experience: "We saw a lioness trying to catch a gazelle and a mother gazelle saving her baby from a jackal. We saw many animals lounging and crossing the road in front of us."
When is the best time to go on a 10-day safari?
For the best wildlife viewing, plan your trip between June and October during the dry season. The Serengeti migration peaks from July to September. You can expect daytime temperatures around 75°F (24°C) and nights around 50°F (10°C). Pack some warm layers - the Ngorongoro Crater gets quite chilly in the early mornings, sometimes dropping to 41°F (5°C).
What wildlife will I see during my safari?
You'll likely spot the "Big Five" - lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo - plus countless other animals. During migration season, the Serengeti and Masai Mara fill with huge herds of wildebeest and zebras. One TourRadar traveler shares: "Musa was amazing at tracking - we managed to see over 70 lions, hundreds of elephants, thousands of zebras and wildebeest and many other different animals. The wildlife viewing exceeded all our expectations."
How long are the daily game drives?
You'll spend about 4-6 hours per day looking for wildlife, usually split between early morning and late afternoon when animals are most active. Morning drives start around 6:30 AM, and afternoon drives begin about 3:30 PM and go until sunset. Some places, like Mara Sopa Lodge, also offer night drives where you can spot nocturnal animals.
