- Mekong Delta Compact Cycling Tour
The best cycling tour group in Vietnam. Everything is well organised. Thai and all of his staff are very accomodating. They spend a lot of time to inspect the routes and they make sure that it fits everyone who joins. They come very prepared and all of them are very friendly! Definitely a must do for anyone who comes to Vietnam.
- Excellent Cycling Mekong 3 Days
Wow, what a tour!! We travelled to Vietnam from the UK for a wedding, but wanted to pack in some adventures too and this tour was an absolute highlight. Our cycle tour guide was Ut, who was fantastic, we couldn't have asked for a better companion for the trip. The set up of the trip is that you are driven to a starting location, and then throughout the trip the car is always 15 minutes away: this is a great set up as it allows the cycling guide to ensuring you cycle a decent, but not uncomfortable distance, which can be tailored to your fitness/the weather etc. We were expecting a large-ish size group of us, but in actuality the tours typically operate for smaller groups, so we had a private tour! We were able to take all of our luggage with us no problem (wedding outfits and all!) as this stayed with the car during the day and with us in our hotel room at night. The first hotel was just fine, had everything we needed; the second hotel was really quite special, more than we expected! Throughout the days there were frequent stops for fruit, drinks, desserts, meeting locals, so although it was very hot and sweaty, there was plenty of time to rest and dry off. Every time we met back at the car (e.g. for a short drive to lunch spot) we would be given ice cold water and a cold wet wipe which was both practically very useful and also such a treat after cycling in the sun! The lunch stops were at fantastic homestays where we had some of the best meals of our whole trip to Vietnam. Ut ensured we ate very (very!) well, even with one of us being vegan. A real personal highlight was the 5am floating market in Can Tho which we visited with Ut by boat before starting our cycling for the day. The whole trip was very flexible based on what we had desire/energy for, and we were in very good hands with Ut. We would absolutely do this trip again, and will be recommending it to friends for many years to come!
- Adventure Biking Day Trip: Explore Berber Valleys & Villages in the Atlas Mountains

From the constant encouragement to the detailed history and discussion about the geography and villages…I can’t say enough great things about this tour!!
What our customers ask about 3 Day Cycling Tours & Bike Trips
When is the best time to take a bicycle tour?
Timing depends on where you want to ride. For the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail in Australia, aim for spring (September-November) or fall (March-May) when temperatures are pleasant at 59-77°F (15-25°C). If you're heading to Nepal's Nagarkot-Namobuddha route, book between October and April for the clearest mountain views with temperatures from 50-68°F (10-20°C). It's best to skip the Asian monsoon seasons and stay away from Australia during intense summer heat.
When is the best time to explore wine regions by bike?
Each wine region has its sweet spot for cycling. Take West Kilimanjaro in Tanzania - June through October is perfect with temperatures around 75°F (24°C) and little rain. In South Africa's Winelands, you'll want to ride in spring (September-November) or fall (March-May) when it's a comfortable 60-75°F (15-24°C). The Clare Valley in Australia is also lovely in those shoulder seasons, with temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C). If you time it right, you can catch local wine festivals, like the Clare Valley harvest celebrations in February and March.
What can I see on a three-day bike trip?
You'll experience a mix of cycling and local culture. In Vietnam's Mekong Delta, you'll pedal past busy floating markets and through green rice fields. Over in Ecuador, you can cycle through Cotopaxi National Park and see ancient Inca ruins. One TourRadar traveler loved Tanzania: "The trip combined biking with a traditional safari and cultural program, amazing to bike amidst safari animals and interact with local people." Wine regions like South Africa's Stellenbosch and Australia's Clare Valley let you mix cycling with wine tasting while covering about 19-28 miles (30-45km) each day.
What's the terrain like and how fit should I be?
Routes can be as easy as Australia's flat Brisbane Valley rail trail or as challenging as Ecuador's mountain paths in Cotopaxi National Park. The Clare Valley Riesling Trail is perfect for beginners - it's mostly flat and you'll cover about 18-22 miles (30-35km) daily on smooth gravel paths. A TourRadar traveler shared about Tanzania: "The landscapes are beautiful and we even got the chance to see giraffes, zebras and antilopes very close by." Most trips need moderate fitness to ride 22-37 miles (35-60km) per day. Many routes, like South Africa's Stellenbosch to Hermanus tour, offer e-bikes if you want some extra help.
Where will I stay during the trip?
You'll sleep in places picked for their character and convenient location along the route. On the Stellenbosch to Hermanus tour in South Africa, you get to stay at beautiful wine estates, including the historic Wildekrans Wine Estate. The Clare Valley tour puts you up in quality spots like the Rising Sun Hotel in Auburn. One TourRadar traveler loved their Tanzania West Kilimanjaro experience: "We stayed in beautiful lodges with comfortable accommodations and delicious, locally grown food." Most rooms are en-suite, and some trips offer unique options like traditional Maasai huts or mountain chalets.
How far will I ride each day?
Daily distances change based on the route and difficulty. In the Mekong Delta, you'll cover 25-37 miles (40-60km) daily on flat paths through countryside and along rivers. Mountain routes like Romania's Transfagarasan & Transalpina Epic Climbs are more intense - you'll climb 22 miles (35km) uphill one day, then enjoy a 37-mile (60km) descent. Support vehicles follow along in case you need them - one TourRadar traveler mentioned "with mechanic support, we didn't have to worry about any issues and could just enjoy the scenery while riding."
