14 Day Indochina Itinerary, incl. Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City
Cyclists pedal through national parks, ancient temples, and delta villages across Thailand and Vietnam. Two weeks of adventure with 4-star accommodations, expert guides, and support vehicle for daily rides up to 75km.
- Days 1-2
Bangkok, Thailand
Start in Bangkok with a cycling adventure through Bang Kra Jao, a peaceful network of waterways and villages across the Chao Phraya River. A local guide recommends: "Many visitors miss this hidden oasis—get there before 8am to see monks collecting alms and locals setting up their market stalls." Your second day includes 35km of mostly flat riding with stops at temples and local markets. Pack quick-dry clothes since Bangkok gets very humid.
- Days 3-4
Khao Yai National Park to Border Town
Travel to Nakhon Nayok Province for a 50km ride to Haew Narok waterfall. This route has some uphill sections so take it slow and bring extra water. The next day takes you through rural Thailand to Aranyaprathet near the Cambodian border. Roads are good but stay alert for traffic in villages. Try to cross the border early to avoid long lines.
- Days 5-7
Siem Reap & Angkor Complex, Cambodia
Once in Cambodia you'll arrive at Siem Reap the gateway to Angkor. Take three days to bike through the temples doing about 35-40km each day on flat ground. Get to Angkor Wat by 7am before the crowds and heat pick up. The paths near Ta Prohm can get slippery after rain so wear good shoes. Keep some small USD bills handy for buying things locally.
- Days 8-9
Phnom Penh & Border Region
- Days 10-14
Mekong Delta to Ho Chi Minh City
Your final stretch goes through the green Mekong Delta. Bike along the Vinh Te Canal and take a boat through Tra Su Forest. Don't miss the Cai Rang floating market in Can Tho at 6am when it's most active. Stay with a local family in Vinh Long to really experience delta life before ending in Ho Chi Minh City. The last bike ride is 30km through orchards and village roads.
14 Day Southeast Asia Itinerary, incl. Hanoi and Phuket
Vietnam and Thailand's finest sites unfold through Hanoi's Old Quarter, Halong Bay cruise on Doris Cruise, Bangkok's Grand Palace, and Phuket's beaches. Luxury accommodations at The Lapis Hotel and Burasari Resort.
- Days 1-2
Hanoi
Begin your journey in Vietnam's capital. The Old Quarter is perfect for fighting jet lag on your first afternoon. The streets come alive between 4-6 PM when food vendors appear. On Day 2, visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum before 9 AM to avoid lines, then explore the Temple of Literature. Book an evening water puppet show instead of afternoon performances to avoid tourist groups.
- Days 3-4
Halong Bay & Ho Chi Minh City
- Days 5-6
Ho Chi Minh City & Mekong Delta
Visit Cu Chi Tunnels first thing to avoid midday heat. One traveler notes: "The tunnels are incredibly narrow - if you're claustrophobic, view them from above instead." Your Mekong Delta trip includes island visits and local workshops. Bring shoes you don't mind getting dirty at the floating markets.
- Days 7-8
Siem Reap
- Days 9-10
Bangkok
- Days 11-14
Phuket
14 Day Southeast Asia Itinerary, incl. Bangkok and Hanoi
A 14-day route links Thailand and Vietnam, from Bangkok's temples to Halong Bay's waters. Ancient ruins of Ayutthaya and Cu Chi tunnels await. Luxurious stays include Valia Bangkok and The Apricot Hanoi, plus Le Journey Cruise.
- Days 1-3
Bangkok & Ayutthaya
Begin your journey in Bangkok. Take a longtail boat ride on the Chao Phraya River in late afternoon when it's cooler and perfect for photos. Visit the Grand Palace early on day 2 before the crowds arrive at 8:30 AM. The Jim Thompson House makes for a peaceful afternoon stop where you can learn about Thai silk making. For your Ayutthaya day trip start early to avoid the heat. The ancient ruins are spread out so it's best to hire a tuk-tuk between sites instead of walking. An umbrella will help with the sun.
- Days 4-5
Siem Reap
- Day 6
Phnom Penh
- Days 7-9
Ho Chi Minh City
- Days 10-14
Northern Vietnam

We had an amazing vacation in Vietnam and Thailand. Realistic Asia took us through many spectacular landscapes in these two countries. Now we know the reasons why Ha Long Bay became a UNESCO world heritage, Sapa was unique with breathtaking rice terraces, Mekong Delta was a bright spot too, and Phuket beach was awesome! Thank Realistic Asia for giving us chance to experience lots of exciting activities like kayaking and eating delicious seafood on the cruise, walking in bamboo forest and riding a boat along Mekong river. Although we all felt tired, they were worth-trying experiences that we have never regretted doing in Asia. The transportation and accommodation during the trip were reasonable in their price. The travel advisor Gracy was supportive. Would highly recommend it, and thoroughly enjoyed!
