Adventure Tours & Trips in Turkey
Turkey is about more than beaches! Picture Dalaman River rapids to paragliding over Oludeniz's blue lagoon. Mount Ararat rises way out east, Mediterranean waters hit southern shores, while Ephesus’s old ruins and Cappadocia's rock formations spread across Anatolia. Turkish territory runs from Aegean and Mediterranean coasts through central plateaus up to eastern mountains where activities bunch up and beg to be enjoyed.

Atahan really knew his ancient history he was very professional and the tour ran very smoothly The mic in the bus was sometimes not so clear to hear but when on the ancient sites it became clear as to what Atahan was saying It was a bit rushed in places we did not have enough time to visit a museum in Selcuk but managed to just make the castle and fort I think it needs to be a 17 day tour where we have a guided walk around Istanbul as well as enough time in Selcuk My main criticism was a bit to much time for lunch in restaurants where a simple light snack would have been enough Atahan was very helpful in explaining food items and menu choices This was my first time using Exodus and I would highly recommend them.

Fantastic tour to Turkey with G Adventures. The tour was well laid out, our guide was top notch, and the time at the sites was perfect. G Adventures does a great job of dividing up time spent touring and free time. The small group approach of no more then 15 is also fantastic. You really get to know everyone rather well.

It is worth taking the extra day in Istanbul at the start, and maybe more than one as there is a lot to see which is not on the tour and it is great place to just wander around. We were disappointed that between visiting the archaeological sites, which were sometimes a bit rushed, we were used as a captive audience for carpet and leather salesman. If someone in your group shows any interest then be prepared to hang around for ages while they attempt to close the sale. We would have preferred to have had a little longer in bed.

What our customers ask about Adventure Tours & Trips in Turkey
When is the best time to go on an Adventure tour in Turkey?
Turkey's adventure season runs from May to October with reliable weather for outdoor activities. During these months the Mediterranean coast near Kas and Fethiye has water temperatures around 75°F (24°C) making it perfect for water sports. Spring and fall are better suited for hiking and exploring as summer temperatures can reach uncomfortable highs especially in inland regions like Cappadocia. A TourRadar traveler mentioned "The boat trip and snorkeling experiences were absolutely perfect in the crystal-clear waters around Kas."
What are the must-do Adventure activities in Turkey?
Turkey's landscape creates opportunities for varied adventures from sea kayaking over Kekova's sunken ruins to floating above Cappadocia's distinctive rock formations in hot air balloons. The waters around Kas are known for excellent diving conditions with clear visibility. The rugged terrain of Saklikent Gorge offers challenging hiking paths. One TourRadar traveler shared: "Seeing the underwater ruins while sea kayaking in Kekova and hiking through the incredible landscapes of Cappadocia were absolute highlights." Companies like Globe Drifters and Alaturka run specialized tours that mix cultural visits with activities such as canyoning and paragliding.
What type of accommodation can I expect on Adventure tours in Turkey?
Adventure tours use diverse lodging options across Turkey. Coastal destinations like Kas feature hotels such as Club Phellos with pool access and sea views. Cappadocia offers unique stays in cave hotels throughout Goreme. Some tours include nights on traditional gulets where guests can sleep on deck. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The cave hotel in Cappadocia was incredible and sleeping on deck of the gulet while cruising the Mediterranean was unforgettable."
What safety measures are in place for Adventure activities?
Tour operators such as Alaturka Turkey and Intrepid Travel follow detailed safety protocols. Each activity is led by certified guides whether for diving kayaking or hiking expeditions. All equipment undergoes regular safety checks and meets international requirements. Activities like hot air ballooning in Cappadocia and diving in Kas start with thorough safety orientations. TourRadar reviews consistently mention guides who are "extremely professional and safety-conscious while keeping the adventure exciting."
What's included in Adventure tour prices in Turkey?
Standard tour packages cover lodging guide services equipment most meals and local transport. The Kas Adventure Package provides all necessary gear for diving and kayaking plus boat excursions. Travel Talk tours often include entry fees to historical sites. Extra activities like paragliding in Oludeniz (120 EUR) or Cappadocia balloon rides (290 EUR) usually require additional payment. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The included activities provided great value while optional adventures allowed customization of the experience."
