What people love about Train & Rail Tours from Venice
- Italian Treasures: Venice, Florence, Rome, Sorrento Cruise by Rail
We were with Andrea♥ from Venice to Rome and he was so helpful and kind. He always took the time for us and while we were with him we didn't have to worry about anything. Thank you Andrea this part of the trip was worry free because of you. Unfortunately the second part of the trip was not that good... we had to run everywhere because we were always late... I don't know if it's because of the Guide we had from Naples to Sorrento but this part of the trip was not well organized, but the hotel in Castalamare was wonderful and the meals delicious. I would recommand Andrea as your guide anytime!!! Grazie from the 4 Quebecoise xx

Exactly how I like with the itinerary, you’re able to visit most of the place’s must-see destinations and heaps of time to know the place more on your own.

One traveler told us "traveling by train in Italy was incredibly efficient and comfortable" while another said "the high-speed trains made getting between cities quick and enjoyable, with ever-changing views at your window." You can easily connect to other Italian cities from the main stations in Rome (Roma Termini) or Florence (Firenze Santa Maria Novella).
What should I explore in Venice before starting my train journey?
Take time to see the main sights in Venice before you head out - St. Mark's Basilica, a gondola ride on the Grand Canal, and the Doge's Palace are must-sees. As one traveler put it: "highlights included just being in Venice, seeing St Mark's Basilica, and getting the view from the tower on the island near Venice - over the whole city." Try to visit Murano to watch the traditional glassblowers at work, and make sure you try some cicchetti (Venetian tapas) near the Rialto Bridge.
What's the best season for train tours starting from Venice?
Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) are perfect times for train tours from Venice. The weather is pleasant with temperatures between 59-77°F (15-25°C).
