What people love about Marrakesh Tours
- From Marrakech to Fes private Desert tour ( Luxury Camp )
I have never been so moved by my experience that Amanar at marrakech tours gave me. To say it was a life changing is almost an understatement, I left not only with beautiful memories of the Sahara, Atlas and the medinas with their bustling souks, but with thought provoking conversations and a deep understanding and respect for the Berber and Moroccan culture. Amanar went out of his way to make this an incredible experience from getting me to the best vantage points in the desert, bursting with an impromptu concert with traditional music, exposing me to the nomadic families, encouraging me to walk a little further and helping me along too to get the best pictures, drawing on the sand a caravan route to explain to me what it would have been like in the bygone days or just simply being as entertaining and knowledgeable about all things from science to philosophy. He took me to all the local places and I truly felt very local and he also found time to talk about old Berber stories and interesting facts that you would not get from a run of the mill tour. I travelled as a single female, Amanar offered me the deepest courtesy and respect and not once did I feel unsafe, rather he became the safety net. Amanar would willingly do things that are so precious, from gifting me with a carpet after my experience buying a carpet was completely ruined, to little snacks for our journey to a very precious necklace that I will always treasure, the Berber symbol for freedom. Amanar is well respected, and when you tour with him you will see why, as the locals love to chat with him and he has good relationships with everyone and every city and that makes a difference when you're travelling. Ultimately, I recommend Amanar without reservation and you will absolutely not go wrong with this. I am in the travel industy myself, and the service Amanar will give you is not only deeply personal, but gratifying and above excellent from the initial booking to creating the overall experience. Thanks Amanar, I will always remember this trip and you're a big part of it by sharing your culture, traditions, language and aa. The joy you filled my trip with and the many conversations is absolutely appreciated and I definitely felt the love you have for your people, your culture and your country. To be honest, no one could have done this trip better!

Amazing hospitality and beautiful scenery. Could have been a little bit more challenging and adventurous on the first day, but the second day made up for it :)
What our customers ask about Marrakesh Tours & Trips
What's the best time of year to visit Marrakesh?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) provide the most comfortable conditions for exploring Marrakesh with temperatures between 20-25°C (68-77°F). The city experiences extreme heat in July and August with temperatures reaching 50°C (122°F). Winter nights can drop to surprisingly cool temperatures. A TourRadar traveler noted: "We visited in April and had perfect weather for exploring the medina and gardens though bringing layers for evening activities was essential." These shoulder seasons also mean fewer tourists at key sites like Jardin Majorelle and better accommodation rates across the city.
What's the best area to stay in Marrakesh?
The ancient medina offers the most authentic experience with its converted riads (traditional houses). A TourRadar traveler shared: "Staying at Riad Dar Soukaina in the medina put us within walking distance of major attractions like Djemaa El-Fna and the souks while still providing a peaceful oasis." The modern Gueliz district presents an alternative with contemporary hotels and easy access to restaurants but requires transportation to reach historic sites.
How accessible are day trips from Marrakesh?
The city serves as a convenient launch point for exploring nearby attractions. The Atlas Mountains Ourika Valley and Ait Benhaddou are all within reach. One TourRadar traveler noted: "We stayed at Riad El Palacio and took a day trip to the Atlas Mountains - it was just 1.5 hours away and offered amazing hiking opportunities and authentic Berber village experiences." Most accommodations help arrange transport and local operators like Morocco Joy Travel provide guided tours with hotel pickup.
How should I handle tipping in Marrakesh?
Tipping is common practice in Marrakesh though expectations are lower than in Western countries. A TourRadar traveler advised: "Our guide recommended tipping 10-15% in restaurants 20-30 MAD (approximately 2-3 USD) for taxi rides and 50-100 MAD (5-10 USD) per day for tour guides." At riads like Les Jardins Mandaline guests typically leave a modest tip for housekeeping and dining staff upon departure. For street performers and artisans in Djemaa El-Fna agree on prices before any service.
What unique shopping experiences can I find in Marrakesh?
The souks north of Jemaa el-Fna present a maze of shopping opportunities. A TourRadar traveler at the Royal Mansour observed: "The artisan quarters are fascinating - you can watch craftsmen creating everything from leather goods to intricate metalwork." The Ensemble Artisanal offers fixed-price traditional crafts while specialized markets like Souk Semmarine focus on textiles and Souk Cherratine on leather goods. Bargaining is expected and adds to the cultural experience.
What are the must-try local dishes in Marrakesh?
The local food scene centers around traditional tagines couscous and regional specialties. A TourRadar traveler at La Maison Arabe notes: "The food was extraordinary especially the lamb tagine with prunes and almonds." Local dishes include tanjia (slow-cooked meat) harira soup and mint tea. Evening food stalls at Jemaa el-Fna serve grilled meats fresh juices and pastries. Upscale restaurants at properties like Royal Mansour offer refined versions of Moroccan classics.
