Reviews of Small Group tours to South East Asia
- Thailand Grand Tour, Small Group Tour (English Only)
Whilst the hotels themselves were excellent as far as accommodation and breakfast were concerned (except for the hotel at sukhumthai where eggs were obviously cooked very early in the morning and were cold at 7-00 am .Maybe we were spoilt at other hotels in that a chef was provided to cook eggs as one liked along with omlettes and other asian delicacies on the spot ) Further the hotel at Chaing Ria was in a reasonable location considering we were there for 2 days and no early rises .As such time was available to explore the city. Whilst the Holiday Inn at Chaing Mia was probably the best of all the hotels, its location was terrible in that it was about an hours walk to the night market. The hotel at Sukhumthai was 4 kilometres from the old town and 12 kilometres from the new town.Terrible Having said the above and considering the locations of the hotels it would have been helpful to have the tour guide advise how to get to the bustling townships ie by taxi or tut tut and the cost as your tours do not allow for a brief tour and advice as to the attractions in the various townships .Yes we see allthe temples and other tourist attractions however we do not see much of the local people. Finally on the last two days of the tour we were left to our own devices in chinatown Bangkok. It would have been nice for the tour guide to have given us a brief tour of Bangkok city and explained the best method of transport ie taxi or tut tut and even an explanation of how to use the rail system Brian Nichols

Overall the actual toar tour was very good. The tour quide had a fair knowledge of the places we visited. He also well explained and never tried to skip anything. The driver was also very good, taking care of our comfort. The mini van was comfortable. No complain there. The only setback to the tour was the very initial to the tour, the airport pickup. We had to wait a little over one and a half hours when we got picked up. It was very distressing to my wife and daughter, telling me that this not a good sign and what to expert the rest of tour. First, there was nobody there for pickup. When somebody did show up after 90 minutes from that company that person did have the company coloured shirt, thats how we recognised the person, but no sign board with our names for pick up. We had to approach the person ourselve to find out. Very disappointing.

Good Morning, I have given everything a perfect score other than the accommodation. It was great on the exception of poor wi-fi at some of the hotels. This is my only criticism My tour guide Sam was fantastic. Everything ran smoothly due to Sam being super organised and catering to our needs. He encouraged and organised us to do heaps of optional activities. In Laos I actually lost my wallet so a period of time. Sam spent the day searching for it and helping me out contacting people back home to make alternative arrangements. He eventually tracked down my wallet for me. I would have no hesitation recommending G Adventures to my family and friends based on what you had to offer and our wonderful tour guide - who made it a truly authentic experience. Sam had great knowledge of the countries which he shared with us. Thanks Jess
