Everything that mattered was really good! The group of participants gelled very well, everyone seemed to enjoy the company of everyone else, so the marketing must be well focussed to get such a group of like-minded, like-focussed people. The tour leader was excellent. Andrew was able to read the group, adjust the activities, up or down, so that everyone seemed satisfied, regardless of their ability. Accommodations were basic, but comfortable, and there really wasn't time to do anything in the room but sleep and shower after the days' activities and socialising. The activity level was fairly demanding, days were full. It is not a relaxing vacation, but very satisfying for anyone looking for this kind of adventure

I've been doing cycling trips with The Chain Gang for 8 years now. For me, the way they run these trips in France and Italy, is the perfect balance between safety and freedom. You don't feel you're a part of a tour package. It's more like a self guided tour with your friends, but one of them (the guide) happens to know the way and the secret spots better. There's is no support van babysitting you and you won't miss it. The hotels are all very good 2 and 3 stars choices and you feel very welcome, in some cases, by the owners themselves. The dinners are all awesome, always in great places selected specially for us. Their bike choice is very good as well - basic and reliable. So good that I bought one myself when I returned back home the first year. I love the atmosphere of the groups and have been making a lot new friends every year.

What's the best way to see all the different sides of Provence?
You'll find there's quite a range of ways to take in Provence's beauty really something for everyone. The Cézanne Route is really special it's actually France's only classified road and exploring it by e-bike is just fantastic. It runs from Aix-en-Provence to Sainte-Victoire and you're literally following in Cézanne's footsteps seeing the exact landscapes that inspired his art. The e-bikes make it easy and you get these amazing views of old chapels villages and lavender fields. There's also this incredible Corniche Route around Lake Verdon winding through the gorges with these dramatic cliffs rapids and the most beautiful turquoise water you've ever seen.
