What people love about India and Nepal Tours for Seniors
- Bestseller Tour India with Nepal, flight included
You only really find out how good a tour company is when things go wrong? Covid 19 was what went wrong with our tour. Who could foresee this? Mithun Swarma was our guide/chauffeur & I don’t know what we would have done without him. At all times he cared for us kept us safe & well on our wonderful tour. Our trip from Delhi through to Varanasi was expertly handled by Mithun. This part of the tour was as planned. When we reached Varanasi we found out that the Nepalese border was closed & we could go no further. Mithun then, expertly, drove us back to Delhi & then on to Dharamshala in the foothills of the Himalayas. This was definitely the, unplanned, highlight of our tour. Stunning scenery & delightful accommodation provided for us. Payless Tours were brilliant. I cannot thank Mithun enough. His English was excellent & at all times kept us informed about our changing situation (because of covid19) Our return flight (booked separately withAir India) was then cancelled. Mithun took us to a travel agent & stayed with us until we managed to find another flight (took ages) He is a remarkable man & Payless Tours are lucky to have him. He truly cares about his travellers & we’ll never be able to thank him enough. He is a true gentleman.
- India Golden Triangle Tour with Nepal
The trip to Nepal and India was a true dream come true and World Travel Experiences made it possible. All of the tours and guides were amazing, showing us marvelous cultural sites that detail the wonderful history of the region. All of the guides were courteous and very attentive to us during each tour. The highlight of our trip was our driver in India. Mr. Jagdish truly made us feel comfortable and looked after. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and that we were comfortable during our journey. The various shops we were taken to that specialized in local craftsmanship were also very friendly and didn’t pressure us into buying items if we did not wish; with the exception of one. Kohinoor gems & jewelry gave me the worst experience during the trip. Upon entering the store with my friend I knew that I wasn’t going to purchase anything, but accompanied my friend so she could look at the selection. One of salespeople approached me and I kindly declined saying that I wasn’t internet and added that I couldn’t afford to purchase any items. The salesman said he was sure he could find something and asked me to enter another display room, separate from my friend. He noticed I was wearing a bracelet made of plastic beads with a charm and stated that he could show me similar items. I explained I wasn’t interested and furthermore I purchased the bracelet in Nepal and it cost me less than one American dollar. He was insistent on showing me charms and and plastic beads. I kept refusing and at one point stood quite for over ten minutes to convey that I was not interested. After a while I heard my friend asking for me and I told him I had to go to her and reminded him that she is legally blind. His response to me was “don’t worry, they will take good care of her” at that moment I felt trapped and desperate. I tried to stress that I was not interested and didn’t have the funds to purchase a piece, and he responded that I’m American and I have money. I started to feel physically ill and just gave in. I bought a bracelet made with plastic beads and a very small charm that they charged me $55 American dollars. That bracelet would have cost me $20 in America. I felt so taken advantage of from them. I can’t stress enough how horrible I felt. Visitors should not be forced to purchase items they don’t want. I would encourage any visitors to be very cautious if they are taken to Kohinoor gems & Jewelry. They prey on tourists without mercy. Fortunately I didn’t let that one terrible experience ruin what was otherwise a magnificent trip.

What our customers ask about India and Nepal Tours for Seniors
What is the typical age range for senior tours to India and Nepal?
Senior tours typically welcome travelers between 50-80 years old with most participants in their 60s and 70s. The itineraries balance activities and rest periods that suit mature travelers. Accommodations such as the Hyatt Kathmandu and Taj Ganges Varanasi provide comfort-focused amenities that match seniors' needs. A recent TourRadar review from an Australian visitor age 50 noted: "The tour had a perfect mix of activities and free time for our age group."
What medical facilities and support are available during the tour?
In Delhi Kathmandu and Jaipur you'll find modern hospitals with English-speaking medical staff. Tour guides keep first aid supplies on hand and can quickly connect travelers with trusted local healthcare providers. Hotels like the Hyatt Kathmandu offer on-call medical assistance. A TourRadar participant shared: "Our guide knew exactly which medical centers to recommend when needed and helped arrange transportation."
What is the best time of year for seniors to visit India and Nepal?
Plan your visit between October and March when temperatures are mild and rainfall is minimal. The winter months from December through February offer the most pleasant conditions for exploring Delhi and Jaipur with daily temperatures of 20-25°C. A TourRadar traveler suggests: "Avoid summer months of April-June when temperatures can reach 40°C in cities like Agra and Varanasi which can be challenging for seniors."
What type of transportation is used between cities?
Tours use modern air-conditioned vehicles with professional drivers at the wheel. On longer routes such as Delhi to Jaipur (5 hours) coaches come equipped with reclining seats and regular rest stops. A TourRadar guest noted: "The vehicles were spacious and comfortable perfect for longer journeys with frequent stops at clean facilities."
How much walking is involved at major attractions?
Walking requirements vary but many sites offer alternatives. The Taj Mahal and Amber Fort provide golf carts while guides can suggest shorter routes or rest stops. Guides adjust the pace based on group preferences. According to one TourRadar review: "At busy sites like Kathmandu's Durbar Square our guide found shaded rest spots and avoided crowded times."
What type of accommodation is provided for seniors on these tours?
The tours select 3-4 star hotels that focus on accessibility and comfort. Properties like Delhi Inn offer convenient layouts while Kathmandu hotels near Thamel put you close to key sites. A TourRadar guest commented: "All the hotels were comfortable with AC and fresh beds. The Sarangkat Mountain Lodge in Pokhara was a highlight with breathtaking Himalayan views and excellent service."
