RV Andaman Explorer

Originally christened the MV Atlantic Guard, the 61 metre-long MY Andaman Explorer began service as a Norwegian coast guard vessel in 1963. Pandaw acquired the ship in 2015 and it is now re-furnished and ornamented in Pandaw’s signature style. She retains her original Rolls Royce engines and ‘ice class’ hull with extra thick plates that allow her to resist and navigate powerful storms. The result is that the MY Andaman Explorer is a completely safe cruise vessel and the ideal choice for navigating tricky tropical weather conditions such as those witnessed in Southeast Asian countries. The intimately sized vessel is most appropriate for discovering this region’s hidden treasures and offers guests an incredible opportunity to explore Southeast Asia’s enchanting beauty and fascinating culture.

The ship’s most recent owners were a Dubai based shipping family with a keen interest in maintaining her high quality standards. Before that, she was picked up by an Italian tycoon whose family was the owner of internationally famous Carrara marbles. No expense was spared to refit the ship with eleven generously proportioned suites with luxurious amenities. A large portion of the ship’s flooring features cool Carrara marble. Two teak lined observation decks offer majestic views of riverside scenery. There’s also a 24 hour hospitality bar, open air lounge with bar, saloon and an air-conditioned restaurant with separate outside seating. Guests are treated to a complimentary shoe-shine, cold towel service and a revitalising drink after onshore excursions.
