7 Days in Georgia, incl. Tbilisi and Kazbegi
Rich cultural heritage unfolds across 9 Georgian cities, from Tbilisi's historic center to Vardzia's cave monastery. The package includes 6 breakfasts, a traditional dinner, and accommodation at 3-4* hotels like Citrus Hotel Tbilisi and Gudauri Loft, with guides rated 4.8/5.
- Day 1
Tbilisi Exploration
Visit Trinity Cathedral around 10 AM before the crowds gather. Take the cable car up to Narikala Fortress, but wear sturdy shoes. "Walking down from Narikala offers incredible city views, but the stone steps can be treacherous – stick to the handrails." Spend your evening exploring the sulfur bath district of Abanotubani.
- Day 2
Mtskheta & Journey to Gudauri
Leave Tbilisi early to avoid traffic. Drive to Mtskheta (30 minutes) and start at Jvari Monastery. The morning light makes for great photos of the river below. Spend about an hour at Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Take the Georgian Military Highway to Gudauri (2-3 hours) and stop at Ananuri Complex. The road gets quite winding, so bring motion sickness pills if you need them.
- Day 3
Kazbegi Region
Get an early start to Stepantsminda (formerly Kazbegi). You'll need a 4x4 vehicle for the bumpy 30-minute drive to Gergeti Trinity Church at 2,170m. A recent visitor shared: "The hike up to Gergeti Church is challenging but worth every step. Go slowly and bring water – the altitude hits you fast." Try to see Mt. Kazbegi in the morning before clouds move in.
- Day 4
Kartli Region & Borjomi
Drive to Gori (2 hours) and visit the Stalin Museum if you're interested. Next is the cave city of Uplistsikhe. Wear good shoes since the ancient rock stairs are smooth from centuries of use. It's about 1.5 hours to Borjomi, where you can try mineral water right from the spring. The park has well-marked trails but watch for mud after rain.
- Day 5
Vardzia Cave Monastery
- Day 6
Lake District Return to Tbilisi
- Day 7
Final Morning in Tbilisi
7 Day Georgia Itinerary, incl. Tbilisi and Batumi
Seven days covering 6 major cities. Four nights in Tbilisi, two in Batumi, with daily excursions to ancient sites and natural wonders. Flexible final day for shopping or optional activities.
- Day 1
Tbilisi
Start your Georgia trip exploring Tbilisi's main sites. Visit Holy Trinity Cathedral first to avoid crowds, then walk to Metekhi Church for great views over the Mtkvari River. Plan to visit the sulfur baths in Abanotubani by mid-morning and pack swimwear if you want to try them. A recent visitor said: "Having Moris as our guide made all the difference - his historical knowledge brought old Tbilisi to life."
- Day 2
Kazbegi/Stepantsminda
Start early at 7:30 AM for your drive on the Georgian Military Highway to Stepantsminda. Stop at Ananuri fortress complex by the Zhinvali Reservoir for photos in the morning light. The drive takes about 3 hours with stops. In Stepantsminda, a 4x4 will take you to Gergeti Trinity Church. Wear good shoes since the path can get slippery. If weather allows, you can try paragliding at Gudauri resort.
- Day 3
Mtskheta/Gori/Uplistsikhe
Go to Mtskheta early to see the UNESCO-listed Svetitskhoveli Cathedral before the crowds arrive at 10 AM. Next, visit Uplistsikhe cave city. Bring water and sun protection as there's minimal shade. After lunch, tour the Stalin Museum in Gori. While it's controversial, it offers interesting insights into the Soviet era. The trip takes 8-9 hours from Tbilisi.
- Days 4-5
Batumi
The 6-hour trip to Batumi includes a stop at Prometheus Cave. Bring a jacket as it's cool inside. Spend time walking Batumi's boulevard and eating local Adjarian khachapuri. On day 5, visit Gonio Fortress and the Adjara highlands to see Makhuntseti waterfall. End the day tasting unique Adjarian wines at a local wine house.
- Day 6
Batumi to Tbilisi
- Day 7
Tbilisi
7 Days in Georgia, incl. Tbilisi and Svaneti
The grand circuit covers 1470km across Georgia, connecting 10 cities from UNESCO-listed Mtskheta to remote Ushguli village. Six nights in hotels/guesthouses, 19 meals, and activities ranging from Borjomi Park hikes to Vardzia Cave-City tours complete the experience.
- Day 1
Tbilisi to Akhaltsikhe
Leave Tbilisi early and drive to Mtskheta, Georgia's ancient capital. Visit the 6th-century Jvari Church for sweeping views of the city. Drive on to Borjomi for a 3-hour hike along the Borjomula River but bring good shoes since the trails get muddy. Finish your day at Nika Khachapuridze's wine cellar in Akhaltsikhe with a traditional Georgian dinner.
- Day 2
Vardzia Cave Exploration
Visit the impressive Vardzia cave complex, built 13 stories up into the rock face. Go early to beat the afternoon heat, particularly in summer. Take photos at Rabati Castle and Khertvisi Fortress along the way. Spend your afternoon learning to make Imeretian khachapuri (cheese bread) during a cooking class in Sazano village.
- Day 3
Racha Province Wine Country
- Day 4
Svaneti Mountains
Head into the remote Svaneti region, famous for its medieval tower houses. Take a moderate 6km hike from Becho village to Shdugra waterfall with Mount Ushba views. One visitor noted: "The landscape was very impressive. While some roads were challenging, our driver navigated them safely." Bring layers since mountain weather changes fast.

What people love about 7-day Georgia tours
- 7 Day Visit Georgia
Dear Tako, it was a wonderful trip, especially Mr. Tarieq you assigned to us we are very thankful for that. All days went by smoothly and he took our special care in every way he can. All my family is thankful to Georgian Holidays for providing us a wonderful time through Mr. Tariel. Thanks for that.
- Tbilisi and Batumi
A great driver and guide, in Moris. His history and knowledge made this trip for me. I was actually the only person doing this trip and would have preferred to know this in advance. The 3 star hotel in Tbilisi may be that by Georgian standards but is nowhere near that by European ones. The staff at the Tbilisi hotel were great and very attentive though. I'm glad I revisited Georgia and recommend others visit too.
- Private adventure journey to Georgia
Took this tour in April 2022. My guide Koba was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic host and a great travelling companion. I absolutely love Georgia and this trip was an amazing experience.
