Where can you experience the rich cultural mix of Mauritius?
Grand Bassin is this incredible sacred Hindu lake set right in an old volcanic crater - it's really special during Maha Shivaratri when pilgrims gather from all over. Port Louis has got so much going on - there's this buzzing Central Market Chinatown and the Blue Penny Museum where you can dive into the island's colonial past. The Pamplemousses Botanical Garden is definitely worth visiting too with these massive water lilies and rare Talipot palms you won't see anywhere else.

The tropical climate means you've got two main seasons. Summer runs November to April - it's warm and humid which is perfect if you're planning lots of water activities.
