Israel Coach / Bus Tour Reviews
- The best of Israel in 4 days
This tour, planned at the last minute for us, far surpassed our expectations. We got to see almost every site we had hoped to see, and our tour guide Michael was amazing - his knowledge and experience made the entire tour fun and educational at the same time. I would totally recommend this tour to anyone who has never been to Israel & Jordan or who wants to learn about the most important cities and places of the country.
- Holyland Pilgrimage Trip Experience - 8 Days
I was shocked to find so many people ke (40) on the tour. Boaz the guide was very knowledgeable - please can we have a copy of the team photo he took of us all. The Tiberias hotel was awful, drain smelly, dirty carpet, brusque male receptionists. No buffet for first evening meal. The Jerusalem hotel was magnificent.
- Fascinating Israel
Bus transport, hotel accommodation and tour guide were all of first class. My only concern was that the large group size meant that longer than necessary times were spent on toilet breaks, shopping experiences and stops for lunch. Not everyone wanted to buy goods or have 1 hour for lunch break. The optional dinner outing was very poor - the meal was disappointing and even with the Sound and Light show certainly not worth $US 77
What our customers ask about Bus Tours in Israel
What are the best months for taking a coach tour in Israel?
The optimal time for Israel coach tours falls during spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) when temperatures hover between 20-25°C (68-77°F). These moderate conditions are ideal for exploring outdoor attractions like Masada and Jerusalem's Old City. Summer months bring intense heat especially around the Dead Sea while winter sees occasional rain but fewer tourists. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Spring was perfect for our tour - cool enough for walking the sites but warm enough to enjoy the Dead Sea. The Galilee region was especially beautiful with wildflowers blooming." Major hotels such as the Dan Panorama Tel Aviv operate tours throughout the year with climate-controlled accommodations.
What are the typical daily driving times and distances covered on coach tours in Israel?
Daily distances on Israel coach tours typically range from 200-300 kilometers with driving spread across 3-4 hours each day. The Tel Aviv to Galilee route spans 215km and takes 3 hours while Jerusalem to Masada and the Dead Sea covers 340km over 4.5 hours. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Every place we visited we got to with plenty of time to spare each place we could explore and take photographs." Modern air-conditioned coaches make frequent stops at significant locations including Caesarea Haifa and the Sea of Galilee.
How are meal arrangements handled during coach tours in Israel?
Israeli coach tours generally include daily hotel buffet breakfasts featuring local specialties like hummus cheeses pastries and fruits at properties such as the Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem. Lunch breaks happen at mid-range restaurants near tour sites with meals ranging from $12-20 USD per person. Evening meals are often included starting the second night. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Bethlehem's food stops were INCREDIBLE. The places our driver Mohammad took us to had the best food with polite staff and reasonable prices." Special diets including kosher halal and vegetarian options need advance notice.
How much walking is involved during coach tour stops in Israel?
Daily walking on Israel coach tours averages 1-2 miles split between various stops. You'll walk through Jerusalem's Old City including the Via Dolorosa and Jewish Quarter. At Masada a cable car ride leads to walking tours of the fortress ruins. Sites like Caesarea and Acre feature walks on historic stone surfaces. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Put your walking shoes on...the sites require walking but our guide Orna ensured everyone could participate at their own pace." Hotels like the Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem offer convenient access to major attractions.
What is the typical daily schedule like on a coach tour in Israel?
Tours begin between 7:30-8:00 AM with hotel collection and conclude around 5-6 PM. Each day features 2-3 major locations with guided visits lasting 1-2 hours at sites like Jerusalem's Western Wall or Bethlehem's Church of Nativity. Lunch periods run 45-60 minutes at local establishments with regular rest stops. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The tours are well organized but quite intense - we packed an enormous amount into each day visiting key religious and historic sites." Accommodations include quality hotels such as the Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem or Dan Panorama Haifa.
How much free time do I have to explore independently on a coach tour in Israel?
Coach tours provide 1-2 hours of independent exploration daily usually during meal breaks or evening hours after reaching hotels such as the Leonardo Plaza Jerusalem. Major destinations like Jerusalem and Tel Aviv often include free afternoons or evenings for exploring markets shops and local dining. A TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The pace was good - busy days seeing the sites but with enough breaks and free time to wander the local markets and find nice restaurants." Some itineraries offer full free days particularly in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv for optional excursions or self-guided exploration.
