10 Day Florida Itinerary, incl. Miami and Key West
A vibrant 10-day adventure spans 8 Florida destinations, from Miami to Key West. Multiple two-night stays in Key West, St. Pete Beach, and Orlando offer time for deeper connection. The tour balances guided excursions with free time for personal discoveries.
- Day 1
Miami
- Day 2
Miami to Key West
The drive to Key West takes about 4 hours but set aside 6-7 hours for stops along the way. You'll cross 42 bridges on the Overseas Highway with plenty of photo opportunities. Start with Everglades National Park's Anhinga Trail before 11 AM to spot active alligators. Bring water and bug spray since the Everglades gets humid with lots of mosquitoes. You'll reach Key West in time for the sunset celebration at Mallory Square.
- Day 3
Key West
Take a full day to explore Key West. The Key West Trolley costs $35 but gives you a good overview of the city. Start at the Hemingway House when it opens at 9 AM to beat the crowds and heat. "The water visibility was amazing and we saw so many tropical fish - book the 1 PM trip when the water's warmest," said travelers who took Fury's afternoon snorkeling trips.
- Day 4
Key West to Naples
- Days 5-6
St. Pete Beach
- Days 7-8
Orlando
Stop at Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park on your way to Orlando. Check out the manatees first thing in the morning when they're most active. You can spend your Orlando time at theme parks or just relax. If you pick Disney World focus on Magic Kingdom and get there early. The gates usually open 30 minutes before the posted time.
- Day 9
Cape Canaveral & Delray Beach
Get to Kennedy Space Center right when it opens at 9 AM before the tour buses arrive. The Astronaut Training Experience is definitely worth the extra money. Head to Delray Beach afterward where you'll find great restaurants on Atlantic Avenue. A recent visitor shared: "Skip the tourist spots and try El Camino for dinner - best Mexican food in South Florida and the outdoor seating is perfect for people-watching."
- Day 10
Return to Miami
It takes about an hour to drive back to Miami. Book an afternoon flight to avoid morning traffic. If you have time stop at Wynwood Walls. It opens at 10 AM and you can park for free.
- Day 1

- Day 2
French Quarter & Garden District
Start at 7 AM to beat the French Quarter crowds. Get breakfast at Café du Monde for their famous beignets. Visit St. Louis Cemetery No. 1 with a guide (required).
