Serengeti National Park Tours & Trips
Picture this: the Great Migration, a spectacle of nature's design. Millions of wildebeest, a vast, rumbling tide sweeping across the Serengeti, with lions poised in the underbrush. The wildlife here is something else, truly. You can't fully grasp it until you're there. Witnessing predators in action, it's something you just have to see with your own eyes, and when you do, you won't forget it.

I and a few of my university friends took part in this 7-day tour, and the experience was mind-blowing! Going out on a game drive in the morning, I heard the roar of the lions in the savannah as the sun rose, saw the hunting of cheetahs in the afternoon, and sat by the campfire at night and talked under the sky full of them. Lights on Africa arranged everything so nicely for us that we never felt bored or tired. Especially in the Serengeti, seeing the wildebeest migration in front of the eyes - that roar, that tremor, that race - still rings in the ears. The guide was lively and knew where to go to get the best view. It wasn't just the safari; it was pure adventure, pure fun for us. If you're young and hungry for adventure, this is the place for you.
7-Day Wildebeest Migration Tour – Luxury - C

My sister and I went on and 8 day safari to Tanzania. We booked our trip with World Adventure Tours. The company has a lot of great facilities and incredible customer service. After we selected the 8 day safari option, the company took care of all the details, accommodations in Tanzania, transport and activities. They were friendly and accommodating to our needs and really exceeded all our expectations. Our guide was called Daniel. He had excellent English and was very friendly. He was so easy to talk to that we developed a friendship with him over the span of the 8 days. Daniel knew a lot about the wild life and he shared this information with us as we saw the animals. We learnt a lot from him. The sighting that we remember most is the wildebeest migration. We were awed to see so many wildebeests crossing in pursuit of greener pastures. We were left speechless by the sheer number of the wildebeests. We were happy that we went with Daniel because we were safe and secure with him. Daniel. He was a teacher, a friend, a protector, and a great man to spend 8 days with. We were happy that we agreed to stay at Zara properties during our whole trip because they deserve a different comment to talk about exhaustively; Springlands in Moshi, Highview Hotel in Karatu, Serengeti Safari Lodge and Ngorongoro Wild Camp. You need to visit them so that you can experience the amazing hospitality and great amenities that we were offered. I recommend World Adventure Tours. They provide the most incredible experiences, and they give the best to their clients.

Best places to start your Serengeti National Park tour
Most safaris kick off from Arusha, where 44 different tours begin in this lively city. Another 21 tours start from Nairobi, while some visitors choose Zanzibar as their jumping-off point, particularly if they want to mix beach days with their wildlife experience. You'll want to book about 26 days ahead since the best lodges fill up fast, though during the busy months of July through September it's smart to plan even earlier to get your pick of accommodations and expert guides. The wildlife viewing hits its peak in the southern Serengeti and Ndutu Plains from December to March when thousands of wildebeest calves are born, while the western corridor offers dramatic river crossings from June to July. Early morning and sunset drives give you the best shots at seeing and photographing the park's big cats, including some harder-to-spot predators like servals and also caracals. More visitors are now adding Maasai-led cultural tours to their trips, which gives you real insights into local traditions and helps support community tourism projects.

World Adventure Tours and African Polecat Safaris stand out among safari operators in the region based on what our travelers tell us. World Adventure Tours works with Zara Properties to provide really comfortable lodges and camps, while their guides Daniel, Joseph and also Obed consistently get mentioned by name in reviews. Travelers appreciate how they track wildlife movements and position vehicles just right for watching lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos and also buffalo - the complete Big Five. The timing is particularly good during the wildebeest migration, when the guides know exactly where to set up for the best viewing spots. African Polecat Safaris takes a similar quality approach - they've invested in well-maintained vehicles with good suspension for those bumpy tracks, and their accommodations hit that sweet spot between comfort and feeling properly immersed in the wilderness. Their staff undergoes extensive training which shows in how they handle everything from wildlife spotting to explaining local ecology. What makes these safaris real adventures is the unpredictable nature of wildlife viewing - you might find yourself following fresh lion tracks at dawn, or quietly watching a herd of elephants pass right by your vehicle. The guides know how to read animal behavior and adjust the schedule when something interesting is happening nearby.

When's the best time to experience the Great Migration in Serengeti?
The Great Migration really is a year-round spectacle and each season brings something special. If you want to see thousands of baby wildebeest and zebras being born head to the southern Serengeti in January and February it's quite incredible. For those dramatic river crossings where massive herds brave crocodile-filled waters you'll want to be in the western corridor during May June and July. The northern Serengeti hosts huge herds from July through October before they start heading south again.
What local cultural experiences can you have and where do they happen?
You can really connect with Maasai culture by visiting their traditional bomas or villages near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. It's a chance to see authentic Maasai dance learn about their way of life and pick up some beautiful handcrafted souvenirs from local markets.
