    Visit Saint-Denis in the early morning to see the colonial buildings on Rue de Paris in the best light. Head to Cirque de Salazie around midday when visibility improves.     Forêt de Bélouve & La Plaine-des-Palmistes

    Pack good hiking shoes for the Fairy Forest trail. The wooden walkways can get slippery. Get to Trou de Fer viewpoint before 11 AM to beat the clouds. On day 4, visit La Plaine-des-Palmistes and time your visit for the weekend market between 8 AM and 1 PM. Late afternoon is perfect for photos of Piton des Neiges from Col de Bellevue.

    After flying to Mauritius, pick up your rental car and drive to the east coast glamping area. Go kayaking on Grand River South East in the early morning when it's calm.
