What people love about Coach / Bus Tours in Southern USA
- Southern Sounds & Elvis
We booked this tour as a celebration of retirement, a significant birthday and to coincide with Elvis's death although at the time we did not realise it was the 40th anniversary. This was our first ever organised and guided tour and we did not know what to expect but we couldn't have started with a better experience. For even the casual fan Elvis fan this was a worthwhile trip, and there is enough non-Elvis content please any music fan. Our tour director: Clint, and driver: Mart could not have been more helpful going out of their way to make our trip the best it could be. The tour itself was well organised although, due to the amount of time available, some visits were shorter than we would have liked. There was, however, enough free time built into the programme that allowed for personal exploration of both Memphis and Nashville. So impressed were we that we plan to return in the next couple of years, and have even considered attempting to identify what other tours Clint leads.
- Meet the Music Makers
Three of us took this tour, our very good friend is celebrating his 60th this year and wanted to return to Nashville. The expense of booking independantly all but ended plans, however this tour came up on facebook and we are so glad it did. The 'independant' time in Nashville allowed us to get to the bits we wanted to see without the restrictions of a group, particularly as we had been before. The hotel was a little away from town but we walked in a number of times in around 30 minutes, the hotel shuttle ran frequently and dropped and picked up at the bottom of Broadway. Having the experience of Lynda and Rachael from Uk and Shawn our American driver meant we had someone to go to for any guidance. Being a holiday weekend when we were there N'ville was alive with music, and people out for fun, maybe at times a bit too lively. This tour had 6 days in Nashville, which i personally felt was a bit too long, given it was a holiday weekend. - i have since learned an 'amended itinerary' now has 4 days, think that would suit me better. Some time was planned tours with the group were not taken up, again because we had already been. The move on down to Muscle Shoals, whilst i confess i knew very little about, was a relaxing delight away from Nashville's brashness. The tour really showed its value here. Without the planned itinerary many would miss out on so much. Muscle Shoals is very much more a 'region' without a defined centre .. Without the excellent tour guides and driver you just wouldnt find all the interesting places. They also came to the rescue by having the evenings all planned out for food and on each night fantastic atmosphere and entertainment. The live bands we saw were all exceptional.
- America's Musical Heritage with Extended Stay in New Orleans
The Tour covered every possible musical highlight we could have wanted. The Grand Ole Opry & Opryland Hotel amazing. Patrick was well organised & his daily schedule a blessing. Quality inclusions Sun Studios, Graceland, Beale St. Magnolia Hall in Natchez, Atchafalaya Basin Swamp Cruise, Ground Zero Blues Club all unexpected pleasures. My first Tour with Globus & definitely not my last.
