- JSJanet Seiko· May 20th, 20253 day tour included all the highlights of Iceland. Hotel Cabin was small for double occupancy but good location - supermarket nearby, easy walk to city center. Hotel Stracta was nicer but limited to eating at its restaurant. Saw northern lights only after taking photos of glistening skies, not by naked eyes. Iceland is expensive so prepare to pay $$$ for food and extras. Eric was great tour guide and GJ Travel provided excellent customer service.Show moreGJ Travel commented on this reviewThank you so much for this review. - Jen· February 2nd, 2025Overall, the tour was interesting and very good. Our guide Andy was great and let us know upfront about potential changes to plans due to weather, so managed expectations well. The tour is really 3 days with a night’s accommodation on either side, so not the 5 advertised. I’d recommend going for the hotel upgrade as the Hotel Cabin room was too small for two people with luggage, unless you’re not planning to open your bags! The Flybus is a very long-winded way of getting to and from the airport, so I’d pay up for a taxi which will do the trip in half the time, which is worth every cent when your typical departure flight from Iceland is early in the morning. Highlights of the trip were the Blue Lagoon, the waterfalls and of course the Northern Lights, which we were very grateful to see. We paid upfront for the optional glacier hike, which had to be cancelled due to bad weather, so I hope we’re refunded for that…Show moreGJ Travel commented on this reviewThank you so much for this review. - Cara Kristine· November 26th, 2024We just returned from Nov 21-25 tour. Our guide Andri was excellent. He told us about his ancestors and history of his beloved country. He seems like in an industry that he really enjoys and it shows. The tour was at a good pace. You get enough time to take pictures and explore the sights. The only thing that I will change was the accommodation at Hotel Cabin. We got there at 9 am but the check in is at 3 pm. They didn’t give an option of checking in early so we explored the city on an hour sleep. Breakfast was okay. There is a food court closeby though called Borg29 mathöll and offers variety of delicious food. Technically speaking the tour is only 3 days long. The 2 days were your travel days to the airport. All in all, it was worth it.Show moreGJ Travel commented on this reviewThank you so much for this review. We are delighted to hear that you were happy with the tour! Asked on August 7th, 2025Would like to include airfare with this trip, traveling alone at 61 years old
- GJ TravelOperator•Written August 2025
We are a land-only tour operator, so we don't handle international airfare. We recommend booking your flights separately once your place on the tour is confirmed. We still have some availability for the date that you are looking into.

Asked on July 20th, 2025Will it be possible to see ice like this in other locations, aside from the glacier tour? Or do you have a similar tour that includes Diamond Beach and Vik but also Northern Lights in Hella?
- GJ TravelOperator•Written July 2025
We have another tour this is 8 days where you will visit the places in this tour as well as the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond beach. It is called ,,Northern Lights Exploration'' and you can find it here on Tourradar, take a look!

Traveler•Written July 2025Is there anywhere on this tour where we will be able to see icebergs (even from a distance) without going on the glacier tour?
- GJ TravelOperator•Written July 2025
Unfortunately the chances are slim, the best chance is to visit the Glacier Lagoon that is filles with icebergs but the Land of Northern Lights does not go so far.

Asked on July 20th, 2025I am a solo traveler, I noticed you offer accommodation in multiple rooms only. I do not enjoy sharing with people I do not know, any chance for a single occupancy and what is the supplement?
- GJ TravelOperator•Written July 2025
We do offer Single rooms, there is a single supplement. You can see it if you pick a departure and choose the Single room option, or if you let me know which dated departure you are thinking of joining I can write the price to you.

Traveler•Written July 2025I was looking at 9- 13 Sept 2025, subject flight and holiday approved.
- GJ TravelOperator•Written July 2025
The price for that departure is 1490 EUR per person in a single room (budget hotel option) and 2140 EUR per person in a single room (comfort hotel option).

Asked on July 6th, 2025Could you please provide the minimum number required for the tour to be guarantee and let us know how many travelers are currently booked?
- GJ TravelOperator•Written July 2025
The minimum number is 1 pax. At the moment 3 people have booked this departure.
- J
Joyce
Traveler•Written July 2025If the minimum is 1 and you already have 3 people booked then why is it not a definite departure? What is the minimum to have a definite departure and how many months in advance would you declare it a definite departure or cancel the trip?
- GJ TravelOperator•Written July 2025
This is a guaranteed and definite departure.
- GJ TravelOperator•Written July 2025
At GJ Travel we do not cancel any tours without the consent of the travelers booked, so if we only have 1 traveler for a departure we might ask him if he wants to change departures to get a better groups experience but in case he does not want to change departures, the tour will be operated, just for future reference.
- GJ TravelOperator•Written August 2025
We have more than enough spots available on the 24.03.2026 departure.

Asked on June 22nd, 2025We do not need a transfer from the airport as we will be in town at the beginning of the tour and can likely get to the 1st night hotel on our own. Will we know where this accommodation is so we can find it?

Colin
Traveler•Written June 2025What happens if it is cloudy the day we are scheduled to see the Northern Lights (or if they don't show)? Do you re-arrange your schedule? What are the chances of not seeing the main feature and what do you do if it is not available?
- GJ TravelOperator•Written June 2025
The transfer from the airport to Reykjavik is included but if you don't plan to use it that is completely fine, the first night is also included so I urge you to use that night as we are unable to cut the price if you dont use the night. The hotels we use are Hotel Cabin (budget version) and Hotel Klettur (comfort version).
- GJ TravelOperator•Written June 2025
During the 2 nights in the country side when you are with your guide, he will take you outside in the evening and hope to see them, the hotel also has a wake up service for the Northern Lights during the night. We cannot guarantee the sight of them but our success rate for this tour is 65%.

Colin
Traveler•Written June 2025Are you able to extend our stay at the Reykjavik hotel where the tour ends by one day? Our flight home leaves on 09/30, so even though the tour departs on the 29th, we will need to find accommodation until we leave the next day.
- GJ TravelOperator•Written June 2025
We can extend your stay and book you an extra night at the hotel! The price is 231 EUR for a DBL room and 187 EUR for a SGL room in the budget category.
- C
Colin
Traveler•Written June 2025What makes the comfort hotel superior to the budget option? Are they just larger? Bigger beds? Nicer decor?
- GJ TravelOperator•Written June 2025
The comfort option will stay at a 3 star hotel in Reykjavik for the first and last night, the budget option will stay at a 2 star hotel. And in the country side the comfort option is an upgraded room at the hotel.
