- VOVINCENT MURRAY· October 13th, 2023Pretour Comms were great: fast and clear. Tour logistics were good enough and daily communication clear. Few minor aspects unexpected eg additional meal costs, rental of equipment (sleeping bags, mattress). Local guides, porters were great ( as expected). At times the encouragement to tip all service providers felt excessive. Overall a good tour, given the small group and pricing.Show moreTrip date: September 2023

Asked on October 27th, 2024We are 70+/- years old couple and not super physically active with some small (not major) health issues. We are very interested in joining this trip and have checked this website since last year. Our question is, are we able to do this?
- National Geographic Journeys with G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
With this trip you can opt to hike the Inca Trail, the Lares Trek or stay in Cusco and visit Machu Picchu by train. If you were to opt for one of the hikes these are very physically demanding as the terrain is uneven and high altitude is involved. If you were to opt to stay in Cusco and use the train then this is not a physically demanding tour.

Traveler•Written October 2024Yes, we saw the options, but the train option gives little time spending at Machu Picchu like most of other company's program. The Inca Trail option let people see sun rise and spend more time at Machu Picchu. Are we right about this?
- National Geographic Journeys with G AdventuresOperator•Written October 2024
That's right, if you want to most time trekking then it is best to do the Inca Trail or Lares Trek, however these can be a little strenuous. It is suitable for most healthy fitness levels though.

We do not make exceptions on age restrictions unless they are one or two months short to turn 12 years old. We do have "family tours" which allow younger passengers like the Peru Family Experience.
