Enjoyed completing the second leg of the trip that I started two years ago. Having Gustavo from Portugal made visiting that country more insightful. He responded promptly to concerns via the WhatsApp and was very approachable. He always made the effort to make sure we had the best vantage points for everything we were seeing.

Gustavo the tour guide was amazing! He excelled in so many ways. Ernesto/Ermendo the driver was diligent, polite and very helpful with bags and loading. Also a safe professional driver. Restaurants were good. Hotels were not good and sometimes hard to tolerate. Also dragging our own bags in and out of the hotel a huge burden. This level of touring was a mistake. We just got off a Trafalgar tour and the quality and extras were much better. Particularly annoying was almost no kettles or tea making facilities in the hotels. This level of touring is not for me. I will be making an effort to see what extras are included next time.

The destination cities and tour leader were great! Ricardo with Expat Explore was amazing and very knowledgeable about all of the places we visited. We did not miss out on any information. We did also get to experience a different perspective from various local guides as well. The hotel rooms began very good, as the tour went on the rooms were small and were older/ in need of a facelift/ repair. Unless you are paying for your own meals, the meals provided are not that great and honestly are a let down especially when you are trying to taste some of the cusine of Spain.

The trip was well paced. Gustavo, our tour guide, was full of knowledge and fun. Always felt very safe with Paulo driving. Accommodation was adequate, as were the included meals - some were better than others. Overall I have no complaints. Our fellow passengers were all lovely and very respectful.

The trip starts well, with good accommodation but the hotel quality goes down night after night. The restaurant choices of the included dinners were poor quality food and service, some feels like a rip off. Some of the guide recommendations were poor qualities venues too. The optional attractions were relatively well selected although some were clearly a rip off as the Tapas tour. Although the support received from the guide and the driver was good, thoughtful and appreciated Didn't enjoy

You have to make sure that your flight from London arrives early on Day 1 which will allow you to meet at 10AM, or you can choose to arrive a day early. However, arriving a day early would mean that you will have to arrange your accommodation for that evening. On the Last Day of the tour, the group arrives back in Madrid at around 2:30 PM, so it is recommended to get an evening flight. The Alhambra Optional lasts for about 2 Hours and 30 Minutes up to 3 Hours. Will we have to book and pay for hotel accomodation before and after the tour as we have been on other tours and that was required as the tour usually starts early mornings and ends late at night. Flights to and from Madrid are not frequent from Cyprus. We also would like to know if there will be transport available from airport to hotel.

    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten November 2024

While pre- and post-tour accommodation is not compulsory, it is highly recommended, as our tours do have early starts and may end late in the evening. Regarding airport transfers, we regret to inform you that we no longer provide this service. However, you can easily arrange transportation using public transport or book a transfer through Welcome Pickups, a convenient platform offering reliable services at competitive prices.
