Itinerary
- Day 1
Mombasa
After your hotel pickup, you'll head to one of Mombasa's lively local markets like Marikiti or Kongowea where vendors sell spices, coconuts, vegetables, and fresh seafood. You'll wander through the colorful stalls and pick out ingredients with help from friendly locals. From there you'll transfer to a local kitchen or homestay for a hands-on Swahili cooking class. Your host will guide you through preparing traditional dishes like pilau and coconut curry, and then you'll sit down to eat what you've made while learning about Swahili hospitality and sharing stories. Later you'll head back to your hotel.
