Atins to Baixa Grande
Your morning is open after arriving in Atins, so you can rest up or book optional activities like horseback riding or ATVs if you want. At 1:00 PM a 4x4 picks you up and drives through Canto de Atins to Duna da Bandeira, where vehicles have to stop. From there you'll walk about 10 km across lagoons and sand dunes heading to Baixa Grande, which totals roughly 32 km from where you started. You'll have dinner waiting and a hammock to sleep in once you arrive.

Baixa Grande to Queimada dos Paulos
After an unhurried breakfast you'll head out on foot, covering about 12 km through dunes to Queimada dos Britos. This stage is the easier one of the whole crossing, and since you're not leaving at dawn you can move at your own pace. There are local restaurants at both Queimada dos Britos and Queimada dos Paulos (it's actually the same village but different families live there). Later in the day you'll have time to relax, then climb up the dunes before the sun sets to see what the desert offers at that hour. After eating dinner you'll have the evening under stars.

You'll swim in some of the nicer lagoons around here. Once you get to Betânia you'll have lunch and can walk around the village, which is one of the bigger settlements in the region.
