Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech - Casablanca - Rabat
Your journey starts with a drive from Marrakech to Casablanca, where you'll spend time at the Hassan II Mosque with its distinctive location right along the coast. The architecture here really stands out because of how it sits between the ocean and the city. From there, you'll head to Rabat, Morocco's capital, and get to see the Royal Palace grounds, Hassan Tower, and the Kasbah of the Udayas. This old fortified neighborhood has narrow streets and traditional homes worth walking through. You'll settle in for the night in Rabat after covering these main sites.

Fes
Today you're spending the full day in Fes, exploring the medieval medina which is quite extensive and easy to get lost in (in a good way). You'll visit the Bou Anania and Attarine Medersas, religious schools with beautiful tilework and carved details, and see the entrance to the Qarawiyyin Mosque, a religious institution functioning as one of the world's oldest universities since the 9th century. The Nejjarine fountain is worth stopping at for its carved cedar and zellige tilework. The souks throughout the medina have everything from leather goods to spices, and they're considered some of Morocco's best. By evening you'll head back to your riad to rest.

On the way, you'll pass through cedar forests near Azrou where Barbary apes sometimes appear, though spotting them isn't guaranteed. The route takes you through the Middle Atlas Mountains and past the town of Beni Mellal, with scenic views of mountains and valleys throughout the drive.
