Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Zagora Desert
Your adventure kicks off with a 7:30 am pickup in Marrakech. From there, you'll drive through the Atlas Mountains, passing over Tizi 'n Tichka pass with stops along the way for breakfast and photos. The route takes you to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO-protected site you'll walk through. After that, the drive continues toward Zagora through the Draa Valley, where you'll see palm groves and pass through Berber villages. Once you reach Tinfou village, you mount up on camels for about an hour and a half ride across the sand dunes to your desert camp. By evening, you'll watch the sunset, have tea with nomads, eat dinner, and listen to traditional Berber music around a fire.

Zagora to Erg Chegaga Desert
Start this morning early to catch the desert sunrise, then grab breakfast before leaving camp. You'll head to Tamegroute to see working pottery kilns and check out a Koranic library that holds ancient manuscripts, plus explore an underground kasbah. Later, you'll have tea with a Berber family before boarding a 4x4 for the drive to M'Hamid. From there, a 60-km off-road journey takes you through the Sahara to Erg Chegaga Dunes, which is the largest dune formation in the region. As evening approaches, you'll watch the desert sunset, have traditional dinner, and spend the night in a Berber tent.

Erg Chegaga to Marrakech
After breakfast at the Erg Chegaga camp, you'll depart by 4x4 and head toward Foum Zguid on the old Paris-Dakar race road, crossing through the naturally dry Iriqui lake. Around midday you'll stop for lunch in Ouarzazate, then continue on toward Marrakech. You should arrive back at your hotel or riad around 6 pm in the late afternoon.
