Basel
You'll board your river cruise ship in Basel and get settled into your stateroom. This is where you'll meet the crew and other passengers before heading out on the Rhine River. Think of it as your home base for the next week as you start this Medieval Treasures journey.

Strasbourg
Strasbourg offers a few different ways to spend your day. You can take a guided city tour that hits the Parc de l'Orangerie, European Parliament, and Place de la République, then walk through La Petite France with its half-timbered houses and the Cathedral. Or if you prefer, there's a guided bike tour option instead.

Ludwigshafen to Rüdesheim
In Ludwigshafen you have choices: tour Mannheim Baroque Palace with its 800-plus exhibits, head to medieval Speyer to see the Romanesque cathedral and emperors' crypts, or check out the Speyer Technik Museum. Later that evening, you'll sail to Rüdesheim and participate in a wine tasting.

Frankfurt to Limburg
Frankfurt lets you pick your activity: a guided city tour of historical and cultural sites, a tasting tour focused on regional Hessian food, or cycling along the Main River. In the afternoon, you travel to Limburg to see its cathedral, the medieval Old Lahn Bridge, St. Georg's Fountain, and the historic Katzenturm.

You'll cruise to Miltenberg, a medieval town with half-timbered buildings, the Crooked House, and the historic Royal Inn. Options include hiking up to Miltenberg Castle for views or taking a guided bike ride along the Main. After that, you sail to Wertheim for a guided walking tour of its half-timbered old town.

Bamberg
Bamberg is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you can take a guided walking tour of the medieval cathedral, Old Town Hall, and mansions. Or try a food-focused tour sampling smoked beer, licorice root, and Hornla pastry from 1427. Active travelers can bike along the Main River from Eltmann through Bamberg.
