Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cologne

You'll arrive in Cologne and have the afternoon and early evening to explore on your own. The ship doesn't leave until 18:00, so there's plenty of time to walk through the historic streets, check out the monuments, and get a feel for this cathedral city before boarding your Rhine cruise.

    • Discover attractions in Cologne
    Landmarks/POIs

  2. Day 2

    Cochem

The ship arrives in Cochem at 11:00, giving you a solid block of time to explore this town along the Moselle River. Reichsburg castle sits high above the water and makes for a great walk up. If history interests you, there's a former West German government bunker that served as a secret federal bank during the Cold War. You'll head back to the ship by 17:00 for departure.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Daily tea and coffee time)

    Optional Activities

    • Visit Reichsburg castle

    Landmarks/POIs
    Reichsburg Cochem
  3. Day 3

    Bernkastel-Kues

You'll dock in Bernkastel-Kues early at 03:00, but most of the day is yours to spend. This old town has character and sits right in wine country, so you can try local wines at wine bars and taverns scattered throughout. For something more structured, wine-tasting tours with winemakers give you a chance to understand the region better. The steep vineyards surrounding town are worth walking through if you're up for it. You leave at 17:00.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Daily tea and coffee time)

    Optional Activities

    • Wine-tasting session with a winemaker
    • Tour of steep vineyard slopes
    • Visit wine bars and rustic wine taverns
    • Explore Bernkastel-Kues old town
  4. Day 4

    Koblenz

Koblenz comes into view at 07:00, and this is one of Germany's oldest cities with over 2,000 years behind it. You'll see palaces and grand townhouses while wandering the narrow streets. A highlight is watching the ship sail right past the Deutsches Eck, that famous point where the Rhine and Moselle rivers meet. Departure is at 17:00.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Daily tea and coffee time)

    Landmarks/POIs
    Deutsches Eck
  5. Day 5

    Aschaffenburg

You'll arrive in Frankfurt at 07:00, where Goethe was born and the first German national assembly met back in 1848. The city has changed into a major business hub with modern high-rises, which you'll see as the ship moves along the Main river. Later that day you'll reach Aschaffenburg, arriving around 23:00. Johannisburg Castle sits above the old town and offers views across both the buildings and the river.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Daily tea and coffee time)

    Landmarks/POIs

  6. Day 6

    Aschaffenburg

Today is yours to spend in Aschaffenburg. Johannisburg Castle is the big draw, a Renaissance palace you can explore, and the tower rooms give you views out over the old town and River Main. Beyond the castle, there are nice nature parks around town if you want to get away from the architecture. The ship leaves at 18:00.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations), Snack (Daily tea and coffee time)

  7. Day 7

Mainz appears at 07:00 with 2,000 years of history visible in how the city feels. It's known for its relaxed approach to life, which even shows up in its carnival saying 'Mainz is always Mainz'. You'll find plenty of historical sites and attractions scattered throughout this ancient city. Your departure time is 17:00.

Service on board was excellent! Waiters and room service were great. But entertainment wise was rather poor. Cruise was was advertised as German and English mostly German was used. Out of 38 minutes in German, English was use for 3 minutes?? WE had to ask for some translation.. The Cruise administration and presentation on adverting are very misleading. Premium All-Inclusive is just a misleading name and I think it is not the right name for a package!!! Even to have a reserved seats for meals we were asked for daily fee!

This review is about a 7-day river cruise, not a guided tour. The Moselle River is a scenic delight, with vineyard-covered hillsides, charming villages, castles and chateaux. Our boat was the A-Rosa Silva. About 180 passengers. All meals buffet style. We ate very well. The wines included in Premium all-inclusive were mediocre. We knew from a previous A-Rosa cruise that most passengers are German and non English speaking. We missed not having anyone to talk with other than one couple with whom we sometimes shared a table at meal times. The boat did not have very effective AC. The dining room could get pretty uncomfortable. We sometimes took our plates up on deck, and that was lovely. We learned to keep our cabin shades down and curtains closed during the day when we were on the sunny side.

Very good but be prepared to have very few English speaking people on the cruise
