  1. Day 1

    Marrakesh

    You'll arrive in Marrakech and connect with your group at a welcome meeting. If your flight gets in early, there's time to walk around the city and get a feel for the food and sights before everyone officially gathers.

  2. Day 2

    Imlil to Aroumd

    The drive takes you to Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains, then you'll trek about an hour to Aroumd, a traditional Berber village where you're spending the night in a family gite. The mountain views are really something. There's an optional 4-hour round-trip hike available if you want to reach the pilgrimage shrine of Sidi Chamharouch.

  3. Day 3

    Aroumd to Ait Benhaddou

    After breakfast, you're heading through winding mountain roads to Tizi n'Tichka pass, which sits at 2,260 meters. Then you arrive at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO site that feels like it's been sitting here unchanged since the 11th century. Your guide takes you through the Old Town's maze-like streets, and you'll have time to walk up to the summit for those panoramic views.

    Ait Benhaddou to Zagora

    You're driving south toward the Sahara with a stop in Ouarzazate, which you might recognize from films. From there, you'll pass through the Draa Valley with its date palms swaying on either side. By evening you reach Zagora, an oasis town right at the desert's edge where you can explore palm groves, traditional ksars, and the surrounding landscape.

    Zagora to Erg Chigaga

    After breakfast, you're crossing the Jbel Tadrart ranges through sand seas and desert oases. Stop at Tamegroute to see an ancient library with manuscripts on science and literature, then explore an underground Kasbah. Lunch is Medfouna (Amazigh pizza). Later you reach M'Hamid where vehicles switch to 4WD for the final stretch to Erg Chigaga. You'll ride camels at sunset and sleep at a desert camp under the stars.

    Erg Chigaga to Oulad Berhil

    After breakfast, you're heading to Oulad Berhil market town with a few stops to stretch and take in the views. The drive passes through landscape filled with argan trees. You'll visit a local women's cooperative to see how argan oil is made and support their work, then taste Amlou paste made from almonds and argan oil. By late afternoon you reach your riad where there's a steam bath and pool to relax.

You'll wander through art galleries and wood workshops. The evening is yours to do more exploring or just settle in.

There's an optional farewell dinner with your group this evening.
