- Day 1
Dublin
You'll arrive in Dublin at your own pace and settle in for your first night. Depending on when you get in, there's time for a double-decker bus tour hitting the main sights, or you can wander around on your own. Phoenix Park is one of Europe's largest city parks and worth checking out, and the National Botanic Gardens are free with over 16,000 plant species if that interests you.

Dublin to Letterkenny/Donegal
This morning you'll head out to Ardgillan Castle, which sits nicely on parkland overlooking the Irish Sea (the gardens are free, though the castle tour costs extra). From there, you'll drive through the Boyne Valley, an area packed with 5,000 years of Irish history. The Brú na Bóinne Information Center gives context, and you can see the Neolithic burial mounds at Knowth or Newgrange if spots are available. You'll stop in Armagh to see where Saint Patrick built his church back in 445 AD, then continue on to County Donegal for the night.

- Day 3
Donegal to Sligo Area
Start the morning at Glenveagh National Park where you'll see mountains, lakes, waterfalls and native oak forests (free admission right now, though the castle tour costs extra). You might spot red deer or the rare golden eagles hanging around. After that, you'll drive to Glencolumbkille and can visit the Folk Museum if you want. The real highlight is the Slieve Leagues—these 600-meter cliffs are among Europe's highest and offer fantastic Atlantic views. There's a short hike to explore them. Before you finish the day, you'll see Creevykeel Court Tomb, a Stone Age site dating back 3,200 to 2,500 BC, and that's free to visit.

Sligo to Mayo Area
You'll start this morning at the Céide Fields Visitor Center in North Mayo (optional visit) to learn about the geology, archaeology and wildlife. The site itself covers 1,500 acres and has 5,000-year-old stone walls and field systems—it's the world's largest Stone Age site. After that, you're heading to Achill Island, Ireland's largest offshore island connected by bridge. You'll drive through Achill Sound and along the Atlantic Drive, passing beautiful beaches, rugged mountains and small villages before settling in the Mayo area.

- Day 5
Mayo to Galway Area
Today you'll drive through the Connemara mountains to Killary Harbour, Ireland's only fjord, passing secluded valleys, moorland and dark lakes along the way. An optional boat trip takes you through the fjord itself. Kylemore Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with Victorian gardens on a lake, is worth a stop if you're interested. Later, you'll walk through Clifden, a warm market town with traditional pubs and colorful boutiques. You'll end at Brigit's Gardens, spread across 4.5 acres of native woodland with Ireland's largest sundial and seasonal Celtic festival spaces.

Aran Islands
You have the option to take a ferry (about 1.5 hours each way) to explore the Aran Islands. Inishmore, the largest with around 1,250 people, has small stone-walled fields and the impressive 3,000-year-old stone fort Dun Aengus. You can also check out Inishmaan with Dun Chonchuir or Inisheer with Dun Formna. The islands are great for walking or biking if that's your style, and you get to pick which one appeals to you most.

- Day 7
Galway to Kerry Area
You'll cross through the Burren, a rocky limestone landscape that looks almost lunar, passing prehistoric sites as you go. The highlight is the Cliffs of Moher, one of Ireland's most spectacular coastal stretches with great Atlantic views. The visitor center has an interactive exhibition included with your tour. From Doolin, you can take an optional boat to see the cliffs from the water. Later you'll stop in Kilrush for the Vandeleur Gardens (optional), then take the ferry across Shannon Estuary before heading to County Kerry.

Ring of Kerry
Today you'll drive the Ring of Kerry, a roughly 200-km scenic route and one of Europe's most beautiful coastal drives. You'll start at Kells Bay Gardens with its exotic plants and the Skywalk suspension bridge. From there you continue through Killorglin and Glenbeigh to Cahirciveen, then explore Valentia Island with tropical vegetation and dramatic cliffs. You'll cross Coomakista Pass and pass through Sneem before stopping at Ladies View for vistas of three lakes around Killarney. The day ends at Muckross Gardens with exotic trees and flowering plants.

- Day 9
Kerry to Cork/Clonakilty
You'll head to coastal Glengarriff where you can take a short boat trip to Ilnacullin Gardens on Garinish Island (optional), a romantic garden spot that's quite popular. Alternatively, you could explore the wild Beara Peninsula, visit Bantry House with its gardens, or drive out to Mizen Peninsula to see Ireland's southernmost headland with nice beaches and rugged cliffs. Later you'll drive along the coast through Skibbereen and Rosscarbery to Clonakilty with its beaches, finishing the day in Cork and its famous English Market.

Cork to Wicklow
This morning you'll visit Blarney Castle, one of Ireland's most impressive castles (optional). You can kiss the famous Blarney Stone if you want—legend says it gives you the gift of eloquence. There are unique rock formations to hike around and rare plants in the gardens. In the afternoon, you'll head along the Copper Coast cliffs to Waterford, Ireland's oldest city with Viking roots. Mount Congreve, an 18th-century manor with gardens featuring plants from every continent, is optional to visit. You'll finish in County Wicklow for two nights.

Wicklow
You're exploring County Wicklow, known as the Garden of Ireland. Powerscourt House and Gardens is an 18th-century manor with one of Ireland's most famous gardens and optional tours. Next, you'll go to Glendalough, a 6th-century monastery valley where you can see church ruins and Celtic high crosses with walking trails around them. Later, Beyond the Trees Avondale offers views over the area and a 38-meter-high treetop walk (optional), plus an optional slide on the way down if the weather cooperates.
