Itinerary
- Day 1Edinburgh to InvernessYou'll start early from Edinburgh and head north into the Highlands, driving through Perthshire where the scenery changes from rolling farmland to forested valleys. Your morning stop can be either Pitlochry or Dunkeld depending on what the group wants to see, so you might browse local shops or take a short walk along the river. By mid-morning you'll reach Aviemore, a lively mountain town with outdoor shops and cafes where you can grab lunch and try some local food and drinks. After that, it's a short drive to Loch Morlich, a beautiful freshwater lake ringed by Cairngorm peaks where you'll have time to walk around the shore. Then you'll head toward Inverness, stopping at Clala Cairns to see ancient standing stones and ring cairns dating back thousands of years. You'll arrive in Inverness by evening with time to explore the city center, walk along the River Ness, or find dinner at one of the local restaurants before settling in for the night. - Meals

- Day 2Inverness to EdinburghFollowing breakfast, you'll travel to Loch Ness where you'll board a boat to cruise the famous loch and look for any unusual activity in the water (or just enjoy the Scottish scenery if you're skeptical). The boat trip takes you out to Urquhart Castle, a ruined fortress on the loch's edge with views across the water. After the boat returns, you'll head south through Glen Affric and the Great Glen, driving below Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain at 4,413 feet/1,345 meters. You'll stop somewhere along the route for lunch, then continue into Glencoe where the mountains rise dramatically on either side of the valley. The glen has a tragic history from the 1692 massacre, and the landscape itself feels moody and steep. From there you'll drive back across Rannoch Moor, a wild and remote plateau, then down through Lowland hills toward Stirling and finally back into Edinburgh by evening. - Meals
