Itinerary
- Day 1
Tunis
You'll land at Tunis Carthage International Airport where your private guide and driver will meet you for the transfer to your hotel. The afternoon and evening are yours to relax and get settled in after your flight.
- Day 2
Tunis to Kairouan
After breakfast, your guide picks you up to head to the Bardo Museum, which holds everything from pre-historical pieces to Arab-Islamic artworks. Then you'll walk through the Medina of Tunis and visit the Al-Zaytuna Mosque, originally built in 732. Grab lunch at a local restaurant before driving to Kairouan for the night.

Kairouan to Sbeitla to Tozeur
Following breakfast, you'll see the Great Mosque, the most significant Islamic shrine in North Africa, then move on to the Barber Mosque and walk through Kairouan's holy city center. Later you'll drive to Sbeitla for a traditional Tunisian lunch, then tour the Sbeitla ruins where Tunisia's best preserved Roman Forum temple stands. After that, you'll continue on to Tozeur oasis.

Tozeur
You'll start with breakfast and then drive west across the arid landscape. The Lezard Rough train ride takes you through the Selja Gorges scenery, passing villages like Tamerza and Chebike. Back in Tozeur by lunch time, you'll then head to Ong Jemel hill, a location used for filming movies.

Tozeur to Douz to Matmata
After breakfast, you're heading to Douz, known as the Gateway to the Sahara. On the way you'll stop at Chott el Djerid, the largest salt lake in the Sahara, and have lunch. From there, you'll check out Tamezret, a Berber village sitting on a hill with narrow winding streets, then explore the cave-style houses in Matmata that were featured in Star Wars.

Matmata to Sfax to El Jem to Sousse
You'll drive to Sfax, Tunisia's second most important city, and tour the old town, main square, and the neo-mudéjar architecture. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll head to El Jem to see the Archaeology Museum and El Jem's Amphitheatre, a World Heritage Site from 238 AD. Your day finishes in Sousse where you'll walk through the medina and local Arabic markets.

Sousse to Carthage to Sidi Bou Said to Gammarth
You'll spend the morning exploring Carthage's archaeological site, the historic center of the Mediterranean region from nearly 3,000 years ago, wandering through the ruins and historic structures. After lunch, you'll drive to Sidi Bou Said, a charming town with cobblestone streets and blue-and-white houses overlooking the Mediterranean. You'll check in at your hotel in Gammarth later that afternoon.

Gammarth to Dougga to Bulla Reggia to Tunis
Following breakfast, you're off to see the Dougga ruins, built at the end of the 6th century B.C. and designated a World Heritage Site since 1997, with magnificent buildings throughout the site. You'll have lunch at a local restaurant, then in the afternoon head to Bulla Reggia, an important Roman site known for its semi-subterranean houses and mosaic floors. You'll drive back to Tunis, arriving around 5:30 PM.
