Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival
You'll arrive at your hotel in a central location, which makes unpacking and settling in pretty straightforward before things get going. From there, you can take the evening to rest up and get oriented with the area since your hiking kicks off tomorrow morning.

- Day 2
Traben-Trabach to Bullay
This morning you'll board the Mosel wine railway, which crosses Germany's longest hanging viaduct and sets the tone for the day. From there, a steep hike takes you up to Grevenstein Castle, and then you'll tackle the Franzosensteig trail past castle ruins with spiral staircases and via ferratas. Next comes the ridge trail Kirster Grat with river views the whole way. After wandering through the half-timber houses in Enkirch, you'll walk through vineyards down to Bullay for a Mosel wine tasting to wrap up the day.

- Day 3
Mount Petersberg to Cochem
Starting early, you'll climb Mount Petersberg to reach the summit cross overlooking the river bend, then cross near Neef and head up Mount Calmont with its steep 55-degree slopes. The route takes you past a Roman settlement and the rock formation called Eller Todesangst, then stops at the Galgenlay-Pavillon before taking the train into Cochem for the evening.

- Day 4
Cochem to Treis-Karden
You'll start with a climb to Pinner-cross (either by foot or chair lift if you prefer) which sits above Cochem. From there, high-altitude trails lead to the Wingerts Budche refuge, then you'll hike through the Dortebachtal nature reserve and Pommerer Forest. Later, a via ferrata cuts through the Schilzer-basin before the path opens into green vineyards heading toward Mount Martberg and its Roman temple ruins. You'll finish by descending through woodland trails into Treis-Karden.

- Day 5
Departure from Treis-Karden
Your final morning offers choices: take a short walk along the boxwood trail or do a longer hike out to Eltz Castle if you're up for it. By midday, you'll catch the train back to Treis-Karden and then begin your journey home.
