  • Best of Italy in One Week (Venice, Florence, Rome!) reviewer 1
    · October 3rd, 2025
I've booked our recent Italy trip that ended mid-September through TourRadar for a milestone birthday celebration. It was a total of 8 days starting in Venice, going to Florence, and ending in Rome for 6 adults. Overall, it was a memorable, pleasant trip. Tour Radar does not run any tours themselves. They serve as a "one-stop shop" for comparing tours from many different companies that offer tours to the same location at the same time. One can select the month and location and then click on the various tours offered to see which ones fit one’s preferences. Sure, one can go directly with the tour company, but I found the discounts offered through Tour Radar made booking with them sometimes a better deal. Once we book, we become the "property" of the tour operator. They would continue to service our requests for as long as we needed. As for the requirements, one needs to purchase travel insurance and make their own flight schedule. The staff overall were pleasant to work with and very accommodating. A couple of days before we left, one of the staff and I had a Zoom meeting to go over the itinerary and ask questions. When I asked them what hotels we would see be staying at, they claimed they didn't know until several weeks before the tour. The hotels in the respective cities would be outside of the city center but close to the public transportation. They are usually rated as 3 stars. For the most part, they were acceptable to us with the air conditioner, especially in September, and the complimentary breakfast buffet. However, we didn’t agree to the location considered as 4-star (Best Western Hotel Piccadilly) in Rome. It was a good walking distance to the metro station. The front desk was situated up on the 3rd floor, requiring an elevator or stairs after arriving from a long day on a high-speed train on the first day with heavy luggage, deemed unacceptable. It is absolutely necessary to do one’s due diligence on researching the independent Google reviews on the name of the actual tour company, not TourRadar or Zoo. I only choose companies that have sufficient reviews and above-average satisfaction. Do not choose a company that has no reviews or bad reviews!

So well organised, everything went perfectly, the hotels were great, all air conditioned, passes for the vaporetti in Venice were so useful, all the train bookings were perfect, the company kept in constant contact throughout our trip in case we needed anything. A great way to travel independently but with essential bookings pre arranged for us.

I would definitely recommend this tour if wanting to see the best of Italy in one week. We could not of been more satisfied with the service before and during our vacation. When booking this tour we reached out to tourradar with specific questions to determine if this was the right tour for us. They were very helpful in making the decision. The hotels were all very nice. The tours that were booked for us were very informative and allowed us to get a feel for the cities we visited. They even gave us an upgrade at no cost on some of the tours. After our booking, we scheduled a video call with a tourradar representative. We went through the entire itinerary and all our concerns were addressed during the call or within one day. Tourradar was personally in touch with us throughout our entire seven days to make certain we were able to make all connections. If we had a question, we would send them a message and they were instantly in touch with us. I think the same person worked with us throughout the week. This personal touch was unexpected and very appreciated. The only complaint we had was the hotel in Venice. It was very nice with a great breakfast. However, they opted to not turn on the AC — it was way to warm in our room. We have informed tourradar and I have no doubt they will follow up with the hotel. We definitely recommend Tourradar for your next vacation. We definitely felt the value was reflective of the service we received.
