Itinerary
- Day 1
Atlanta
You'll arrive in Atlanta, Georgia and make your own way to the hotel where you'll meet your Tour Director. This first day gets you oriented to the city's significant Civil War past and how it's transformed into a modern Southern center.
- Day 2
Atlanta
The day covers Atlanta's key sites with a guided city tour. You'll see Martin Luther King's boyhood home, the Road to Tara Museum with Gone with the Wind items, and Stately Oaks Plantation. Later, there's a welcome reception to meet other travelers in your group.

Atlanta to Charleston
After leaving Atlanta, you'll travel west through Augusta toward Charleston. The drive takes most of the day, so you'll arrive in this historic city in the late afternoon. Check with your Tour Director about what's available to do in the evening.

Charleston to Savannah
A local guide takes you walking through Charleston's historic district, one of the best preserved in the country. The streets show hundreds of years of history layered throughout. If you're interested, there's an optional afternoon trip to Boone Hall Plantation to see the famous Avenue of Oaks.

Savannah
You'll spend the day in Savannah, which was once the world's largest cotton port. Walking through the tree-lined squares that founder James Oglethorpe designed, you'll see buildings that are hundreds of years old sitting around these historic open spaces.

Savannah to Montgomery
The route heads west across Georgia into Montgomery, Alabama's capital. You'll visit the Rosa Parks Library and Museum to learn about the Montgomery Bus Boycott and its role in starting the Civil Rights movement. There's an option to visit Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church as well.

Montgomery to Selma to New Orleans
You'll go to Selma to see the Edmund Pettus Bridge, where Bloody Sunday happened during the Selma to Montgomery march. Brown Chapel AME Church is another stop before heading south into Mississippi and then to New Orleans. An optional riverboat dinner cruise with Dixieland jazz is available.

New Orleans
New Orleans is yours to explore at your own pace today. The French Quarter has the signature wrought iron balconies and cobblestone streets the city's known for. If you want more structure, there's an optional visit to a working plantation to see Creole culture firsthand.

New Orleans to Natchez
You'll head to Baton Rouge for a quick city tour, then drive the historic 444-mile Natchez Trace Parkway with its scenic views and Native American and European history. The day ends at a grand Antebellum mansion in Natchez.

Natchez to Memphis
Memphis comes next, known as the 'home of the blues' with Sun Records as a key landmark. A brief city tour covers Beale Street and historic Front Street, the old Cotton Row area. Graceland, Elvis Presley's mansion, is available as an optional visit.

Nashville's next, the country music capital. You'll see the newly renovated Ryman Auditorium, explore the music heritage and studios on Music Row, and visit Opryland to get a sense of the city's deep connection to music.

Nashville
A morning city tour takes you through Nashville's landmarks and cultural sites. You'll visit recording studios around Music Row. If you want to make an evening of it, there's an optional dinner and show available.

Nashville to Chattanooga to Atlanta
You'll head to Chattanooga, known for the famous Choo Choo and its revitalized riverfront area. After that, you travel back to Atlanta for your final night with options like the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca-Cola, or the CNN Center if you want to keep going.

The morning is yours before you leave. Your Tour Director can help arrange airport transfers to Atlanta International Airport or suggest last-minute sightseeing if you have time.
