Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Jackson Hole to Trailhead

    Your pickup happens early at your Jackson Hole hotel for a 2-hour drive to the trailhead. During the ride you'll have breakfast and learn about the trip while passing through mountain terrain. Once you reach the trailhead, your guide fits your pack and you start hiking, climbing up to a ridge that overlooks Fremont Lake before moving through meadows and forest. You'll make camp at Trapper Lake where there's time to relax, fish, or wander around before dinner and a campfire.

  2. Day 2

    Borum Lake

    After a big breakfast back at camp, you'll hike higher into the mountains, moving through forests and along creeks with rocky bluffs around you. Trail Lake and Gottfried Lake pass by on your route to Borum Lake, which sits near treeline with views of alpine peaks like Sky Pilot Peak and Glover Peak. You'll camp at Borum Lake for the night.

  3. Day 3

    Green River Pass to Green River Valley

    Following a big breakfast, you'll hike over Green River Pass, a low alpine ridge offering incredible views of the Continental Divide and the surrounding peaks. At the pass itself, you officially enter the headwaters of the Green River, the largest tributary to the Colorado River. Lunch happens right at the pass where Squaretop Mountain fills the view, then you'll descend into the Green River Valley. Your camp for tonight is near where Trail Creek meets Clark Creek.

  4. Day 4

    Green River Valley

    This day starts leisurely and you'll hike through relatively easy terrain, taking time to enjoy the natural surroundings. You'll follow Trail Creek down to the Green River and then hike downstream, passing through meadow systems and lush forests. This is a good day to take your time and absorb the landscape around you.

    Green River Lakes to Jackson Hole

    You'll have a relaxing morning before packing up camp for the last time. From there you'll continue downstream along the Green River with Squaretop Mountain visible, then hike around the shores of Green River Lakes to reach your ending trailhead. A 2-hour shuttle ride brings you back to Jackson Hole, giving you time to think back on your backpacking trip.
