Our guide was personable and knowledgeable and the hotels with breakfast were very nice, The issue was that we were usually dropped off in a town with little information and too much time. The “city tours” were showing us where to meet the bus and where the bathrooms were. It wasn’t much of a “walking tour” except Porto and Lisbon where we had local guides providing the tour. All other locations, it was really up to us to find attractions to go to and learn about on our own. Out of 52 people there were 7 English speakers, so there was more time invested in communicating with them. Also, through no fault of our guide or tour company, we had a group of 18 Argentinians that couldn’t have been more rude with saving seats, telling us to move from our seats, talking loudly during the English portions and elbowing us at the breakfast buffet. Overall, this tour worked with my schedule, but I would not book with them again.

I concur with Kristi's review. This tour is advertised as bilingual (spanish & english) but majority (like 90%) of the passengers on our excursion were south american tourists. You would benefit joining this tour if you understood & spoke a bit of spanish. We had 2 tour guides: our initial tour guide would speak a page worth in spanish then translate a sentence worth in english. Perhaps, its the organizer's fault to assign a not so english-proficient tour guide. However, the local tour guides in Porto & Lisbon were both excellent & fluent!!! Our 2nd tour guide for the remaining 6 days of our journey (Carmen) was AMAZING !!! We had an excellent driver as well. This tour has a great itinerary. Sadly, the english speakers on the bus missed out on the translations during the first part of the trip; more could have been said, but mainly limited to the tour guide's knowledge & ability to express herself fluently in english. All the hotels we stayed at were decent, rooms were very clean & comfortable and served full breakfast buffet. Though the dinner at Hesperia Vigo was drab. Also, all the hotels assigned on this trip (none had swimming pool) were located in the outskirts of town, meaning you have to take a taxi if you want to visit the sites or restaurants downtown. Overall, it was a very nice vacation - the weather was fantastic entire week, had great food & wine, met some nice people and saw beautiful sceneries!

The sights, cities, countries, and people of Spain and Portugal were amazing. I am saying poor because my tour guide could not be bothered to speak in English and catered to the Spanish speaking travelers. When they get a 10 minutes conversation and the 3 English travelers get "it's a church" with nothing more I knew that I was going to be very disappointed with the guide.

Overall we enjoyed the tour very much. The two guides, Patricia and Ofelia were excellent. Although we had little common language with the rest of the group, everyone was very kind and helpful. It was a pity that there was no English language commentary in the catamaran trip. We had, after all, paid the same fee. The food and table service at Santiago were very poor. As we have just said, the overall experience was very enjoyable.
