Itinerary
- Day 1KyirongYou'll head out early in the morning for the drive to Kyirong. This is a long drive, so you might want to grab some snacks and water before departing. Once you arrive, you'll check into your hotel for the night and have time to settle in and explore the local area a bit if you have energy left. Landmarks/POIs Kyirong 
- Day 2Kyirong to TingiAfter breakfast at your hotel, you'll spend the day driving 257km from Kyirong to Tingi (Xiger). The route takes you through some interesting terrain, so there will be chances to see the landscape change as you travel. You'll reach Tingi in the evening and stay overnight at a hotel there. - Meals

- Day 3Tingi to ShigatseStarting early, you'll drive to Rombuk Monastery and then continue to Everest Base Camp where you can see the mountain from the Tibetan side. The views are quite something if conditions are clear. From there, you'll head toward Shigatse, stopping at Shakya Monastery along the way before arriving at your accommodation for the night. - Day 4Shigatse to GyantseAfter breakfast, you'll drive 93km from Shigatse to Gyantse, passing through Shalu Monastery on the way. Once in Gyantse, you'll visit Tashilhunpo Monastery and walk through Shigatse market to see local goods and get a feel for daily life in the town. You'll have the evening to explore or rest. - Meals

- Day 5Gyantse to LhasaAfter breakfast, you're in for a scenic drive covering 259km from Gyantse to Lhasa. The route takes you over Yamdrok Lake at 3,650m/11,975ft, through Karola Pass at 5,010m/16,437ft, and Kambala Pass at 4,794m/15,728ft. The high altitude passes mean the drive takes time, but the mountain and lake views make it worthwhile. You'll reach Lhasa by evening and check into your hotel. - Meals

- Day 6LhasaYou'll spend this day exploring Lhasa's major sites. Potala Palace takes up much of the morning or early afternoon, depending on when you start. The palace is large and requires several hours to walk through and see the different levels and courtyards. Later, you'll head to Norbulingkha Palace, which is the summer residence and has beautiful gardens. Both sites give you a real sense of Tibetan history and religious significance. - Day 7LhasaYou'll visit Jokhang Temple, which is the most important religious site in Lhasa for many pilgrims. The atmosphere there is quite different from other temples you might have seen. From there, you'll head to Drepung Monastery to walk around and see the monks going about their day. Later, you can browse Bharkhor Market near Jokhang Temple, where you'll find local crafts, souvenirs, and items for daily use. You'll stay overnight at your hotel in Lhasa. - Day 8Lhasa to KathmanduEarly morning, you'll head to Gonggar Airport for your flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu. If weather cooperates, the flight offers panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges as you cross from Tibet into Nepal. China Airlines or Sichuan Air will operate your flight. You'll land in Kathmandu with the rest of your day ahead of you once you go through customs and settle in.
