I enjoyed working with Tour Radar. They were very professional and responded quickly to all my inquiries on a timely basis. However, we did have some significant complications with Ancient Tours while in Egypt. We customized our private Egyptian Tour Package with Ancient Tours. We started our tour in Cairo and visited Giza, Egyptian Museum, and the Citadel, and everything was great. We loved our Egyptologist in Cairo as well. We purchased a Nile Cruise to enhance our vacation to visit Luxor and Aswan. Being from Florida, we have been on many Cruise Ships, so at first, we did not want to go on a cruise. However, after viewing some videos and photos of 5-star Nile Cruise ships, we decided to to go on a Nile Cruise as long as it was 5-Star Cruise Ship. Ancient Tours even gave me the names of two ships they work. I researched them and saw videos and felt that we should have a good experience on one of these these ships so I purchased the Nile Cruise Tour. On Christmas Day, we are told by an Ancient Tour representative the following: 1. We are no longer on the ship we were told, and that our itinerary has changed. We were put on the Tower Prestige Ship. This ship had many problems. The water didn't drain in the tub; the food was below average, the TV did not work most of the time, there were no light bulbs in many of the lamps in the rooms, and there was no internet in the room. The ship appeared old and outdated. We paid the additional $1600 for this cruise for a family of four, and I know we could have gotten on a better ship. Even many of the tour guides said that this ship was not the best for the price we paid! 2. Our itinerary was reversed without notification. We were supposed to fly to Aswan, but Ancient Tours flew us to Luxor instead, which is why we could not board the ship we were supposed to be boarding. 3. The most troubling part of the trip was flying back to Cairo after the Nile Cruise. Ancient Tours split our family up and booked us on two separate flights. This caused a mess because one flight left on time while the other flight was hours delayed. This meant my husband and daughter had to wait in the baggage claim at the airport in Cairo indefinitely until we arrived since it was not explained to us in advance where we were be staying that night. It was a great feeling to be reunited with my husband and daughter hours later that night. Once I arrived with my son, we found our transportation. Our hotel was about an hour away from the airport which seemed odd since we were going right back to the airport for our flight back to the United States early the next morning. It would seem logical to book a hotel by the airport. Communication is poor and attention to detail is poor. Ancient tours never gave us a detailed itinerary of all their changes. 4. Because of the itinerary change and the two flights back to Aswan, our tour was cut short in Aswan so we did not have time to do one optional tour we wanted to do in Aswan in the first place, which was to visit Abu Simbel. If it weren't for our Egyptologist Ahmed Sharid we would have been lost. He made this trip enjoyable. He explained everything to us and let us use his internet on the ship. He connected us with Ancient Tours so we could not get lost and took us to the airport in time. He was the best part of the trip besides the Pyramids and Attractions!
