- XYXUE PING· August 16th, 2024The tour was perfect! Very blessed to have Saul and Luis as our guides. They were very professional, knowledgeable, respectful. We felt very safe and they were so passionate of the culture and heritage, I am deeply touched. Thank you for presenting this beautiful heritage. So glad to have meet you both. The hotels chosen are all clean and in good location. We have no issues. Again thanks to Saul and Luis, locals treated us very kindly. The tour is also very packed so we covered a lot in just 3 days. So thankful for our guides who drove hours to bring us safely to sites. There were only 2 couples and we had a lot of space and comfort in the van. Great drivers too, usually I get car sick but not with them. I will recommend this tour.Show moreDestination Services Mexico commented on this reviewThank you so much for all your comments! - AWAlison· March 10th, 2024Thoroughly enjoyed this tour, it was just what I was looking for. Daniel was a lovely guide. Lots of travelling but very well organised and sufficient time at each place, considering the itinerary. Very nice hotel in Valladolid. Hotel in Merida was in a good location but was noisy (though I was fine and slept well as I wore ear plugs 😁).Show moreDestination Services Mexico commented on this reviewThank you for your kind comments Alison! Hope to see you soon in another one of our programs. Kind regards, DS MexicoTrip date: February 2024
- Rebecca· February 29th, 2024This tour is a perfect getaway. The two ruins visited are beautiful and accompanied by education from the tour guide. I traveled solely for the ruins but enjoyed the nature preserve and cocoa museum a lot as well. The locations were very safe and ones where you could walk to the main squares at night without fear. The pace varies from very leisurely (ruins) to kind of huried (cocoa museum). My only complaint is that the last restaurant was selected for us and took only cash which we weren't told ahead and were low on by that point, could have been bad. The hotels were fine and the transportation was very good. Shout out to Daniel and Carlito the second best driver in the world.Show moreDestination Services Mexico commented on this reviewDear Rebecca, Thank you so much for your kind comments. All appreciated and will be shared with the team. We will make sure to advise on the last restaurant situation with regards to only accepting cash as form of payment. Hope to see you soon in... - LSLiz· February 26th, 2024Daniel was so kind and knowledgeable! He was very helpful in making sure there were vegan options for me whenever he could. He also taught us a lot of cool information throughout the trip. Overall it was a wonderful experience and definitely worth it for travellers who have a limited time to see as much as possible!Show moreDestination Services Mexico commented on this reviewDer Liz, We are so glad you enjoyed your program and hope to see you soon! - SKShaina· February 20th, 2024This tour is a great way to experience the “real” Mexico in a guided setting in a short amount of time. Our tour guide was excellent. Logistics went smoothly. The only things for improvement would be accommodation quality.Show moreTrip date: February 2024
- PWPaulette· February 16th, 2024Daniel our tour guide was the greatest. Every day was strenuous for a 78 year old, but everyone was so helpful. - SSShruti· December 9th, 2023The tour was really good! Aldo was our guide and he gave us lots of information, fun facts and tidbits about Yucatan and Mayan people as we went along. Day 1 was by yourself-- you use the time to arrive in Cancun and settle into your hotel. Day 2 was packed with a visit to the mangroves, a 2 hour long boat tour with wildlife sightings, swimming in a cenote and evening in the city of Valladolid. Day 3 was super busy too with a tour of the Chichen Itza, visit to the city of Izamal (we climbed a pyramid there) and an overnight stay in Merida (beautiful, vibrant city with great food). In our last day we went to Uxmal (which was splendid and really well preserved), a Mayan marketplace and a chocolate museum. You cover a LOT of stuff in just 3 days, so it's a lot of early mornings and late evenings. But it was worth it imo! The inclusive breakfast is a nice bonus too. The only drawbacks were my experience with the transfer to the hotel from the Cancun airport. It was a long, almost 2 hour wait at the airport! I also thought the hotel we stayed in Valladolid (Hotel Ecotel Quinta Regia) was very old and lacked some basic amenities. I hope the tour operators make improvements to these aspects for future tour groups.Show moreDestination Services Mexico commented on this reviewDear Shruti, Thank you so much for all your comments and we are so glad you enjoyed your trip with us! We will make sure to pass along all your comments to our supply area in order to revise the hotel and transfer issues you have kindly mentioned.... Show moreTrip date: December 2023
- SFSarah· October 9th, 2023The tour was very good. It was very varied and we have seen a lot in a short amount of time. Fantastic if you want to explore Yucatán without planning it yourself. We loved that the group was so small which allowed for some personalisation of the tour. Juan Carlos was a good tour guide who fed us with lots of information about Yucatán/Mexico. The only negatives are that there was a lot of driving on day 1 and the hotel in Merida was outdated.Show moreDestination Services Mexico commented on this reviewThank you so much for your comments Sarah, we truly appreciate to learn from our guests' experiences. Asked on July 7th, 2024Do I need to arrive on the 18th? Or does the day start then, and I need to arrive on the 17th? What time would we be getting back? I'm assuming not in enough time to catch a flight, but I was thinking of extending my stay in Mexico at a resort and wanted to know if I should book the resort starting that night (21st) or wait until the 22nd.
- Destination Services MexicoOperator•Written July 2024
The first day of the tour is the day of your arrival so you can arrive on August 18th. The tour starts the following day on the 19th. As for the departure, the last night is not included, and it is absolutely recommended to book this night as by the time we return to Cancun, there won't be enough time for you to catch a flight back to your country of origin so we highly recommend to have this extra night in Cancun.
