- Cindy· February 6th, 2019I cannot say enough great things about our guide Roxner and his company, Action Peru Treks. He was highly recommended to us by a friend, Stephanie who had been on a private 4 person Salkantay Trek a year before us. Just random, but another friend, Deems, did the same Salkantay Trek and also had an amazing experience, so you can be assured this is the company to choose when booking a trek to Machu Picchu. We booked a private 6 person Classic Inca Trek for the first week in June. Ages ranged from 21 to 65 - all experienced hikers. From the very first inquiry, Roxner's team was quick to respond to all of our questions. They made planning the trek and stay in Cusco seamless. They recommended great accommodations and restaurants pre and post trek. We added the Sacred Valley Tour on one of our free days before the trek, and covered lots of ground seeing more ruins and experiencing local culture. The Classic Inca trek was well organized from start to finish. Roxner was a knowledgeable and gracious host - he was kind and patient with us - even when someone had struggles getting up Dead Woman's Pass or got lost in the crowds at Machu Picchu. His team exceeded our expectations in every way - our meals were local and delicious - we even had a cake baked by a solar oven for dessert our last night on the trek. Our every need was met and exceeded - from hot tea and warm water to wash our faces in the morning to a 4 course gourmet meals on the trail for lunch and dinner. I love to hike and travel, and have to say this was my best trip yet - big thanks to Roxner and his team for making this a trip my daughter and I will always remember.
