Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali
You'll touch down in Kigali where your guide meets you at the airport. After settling into your hotel, the rest of the afternoon is yours to relax or explore a bit depending on when you arrive. If you're not too tired, there are a few optional activities you could do, but mostly this day is about getting acclimated.

Kigali
This day focuses on Kigali's important historical sites. You'll walk through the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site with your guide, then check out the Kandt House and Camp Kigali Memorial. After lunch, you'll head south to Bugesera to see more memorial locations before driving back to Kigali for the evening.

Southern Province
You're heading south to explore the Kings' Palace and Ethnographic Museums in Rwanda's Southern Province. Along the route, you'll stop at Kamegeri Rock to see this significant landmark up close and learn about its history before continuing to the museums.

Southern Province to Karongi
Start the morning at Murambi Genocide Memorial, then detour to Mountain Huye Coffee where you can walk through their washing stations and taste their coffee. From there, you'll drive through Nyungwe Forest toward Karongi, arriving in the evening to settle in for the night.

Karongi to Rubavu
Begin at the Environmental Museum in Karongi learning about traditional medicinal plants. Then head out on Lake Kivu for a boat ride to visit Amahoro and Napoleon Islands. Back on shore in the afternoon, you'll transfer to Rubavu and check in there for the night.

Rubavu to Musanze
In Rubavu, you'll spend time with a potters community and join in on cultural activities like handcrafts, local food preparation, or traditional women's activities. Later, walk around Rubavu town to see the local area before heading to Musanze where you'll stay the night.

Musanze
You'll meet gorilla guardians and hear their stories about life in this traditional rural village. The day includes a village walk, a visit to a king's house replica, watching traditional dances, and learning from local healers about their practices. After a local lunch, you'll head to the airport for your departure.
